If only you were to me like a brother, who was nursed at my mother’s breasts! Then, if I found you outside, I would kiss you, and no one would despise me.

“ I wish you were like a brother to me. I wish my mother’s breasts had nursed you. Then if I found you outside, I could kiss you. No one would look down on me.

Oh that you were like a brother to me who nursed at my mother’s breasts! If I found you outside, I would kiss you, and none would despise me.

Oh, I wish you were my brother, who nursed at my mother’s breasts. Then I could kiss you no matter who was watching, and no one would criticize me.

If only I could treat you like my brother, one who nursed at my mother’s breasts, I would find you in public and kiss you, and no one would scorn me.

Oh that thou wert as my brother, That sucked the breasts of my mother! When I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; Yea, and none would despise me.

If only I could treat you like my brother, one who nursed at my mother’s breasts, I would find you in public and kiss you, and no one would scorn me.

O that thou[ wert] as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother![ when] I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.

Oh, how I wish you were my little brother, nursing at my mother’s breasts; if I saw you outside, I could kiss you– surely no one would despise me!

Oh that you were like my brother, who nursed from the breasts of my mother! If I found you outside, I would kiss you; yes, and no one would despise me.

but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.

“ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.

And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

That you may feed and be satisfied With the consolation of her bosom, That you may drink deeply and be delighted With the abundance of her glory.”For thus says the Lord:“ Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Then you shall feed; On her sides shall you be carried, And be dandled on her knees.

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Listen, O daughter, Consider and incline your ear; Forget your own people also, and your father’s house;So the King will greatly desire your beauty; Because He is your Lord, worship Him.

For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory.He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, And shall not despise their prayer.

“ Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” Says the Lord of hosts.

Also the sons of those who afflicted you Shall come bowing to you, And all those who despised you shall fall prostrate at the soles of your feet; And they shall call you The City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Then He turned to His disciples and said privately,“ Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see;for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

He answered and said,“ Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.”Then they said to him again,“ What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?”He answered them,“ I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?”Then they reviled him and said,“ You are His disciple, but we are Moses’ disciples.We know that God spoke to Moses; as for this fellow, we do not know where He is from.”The man answered and said to them,“ Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes!Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind.If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.”They answered and said to him,“ You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?” And they cast him out.Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him,“ Do you believe in the Son of God?”He answered and said,“ Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?”And Jesus said to him,“ You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.”Then he said,“ Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him.

Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

The officers answered,“ No man ever spoke like this Man!”Then the Pharisees answered them,“ Are you also deceived?Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.”Nicodemus( he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them,“ Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?”They answered and said to him,“ Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.”

“ Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God.

No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

But Jesus said,“ Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me.For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always.She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,saying:“ I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.”And again:“ I will put My trust in Him.” And again:“ Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.”Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in.You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”Then He said to her,“ Your sins are forgiven.”

THE SHULAMITE: Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth— For your love is better than wine.

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.

But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

Jesus said to them,“ If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.”

Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans.So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them,“ Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury;for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”

And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law,he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:“ Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word;For my eyes have seen Your salvationWhich You have prepared before the face of all peoples,A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”
