Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you— if you find my beloved, what will you tell him? Tell him I am faint with love.

As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?Day and night I have only tears for food, while my enemies continually taunt me, saying,“ Where is this God of yours?”

I cry out to God; yes, I shout. Oh, that God would listen to me!When I was in deep trouble, I searched for the Lord. All night long I prayed, with hands lifted toward heaven, but my soul was not comforted.I think of God, and I moan, overwhelmed with longing for his help. Interlude

Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit.

Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.

O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!

Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me?I am shriveled like a wineskin in the smoke, but I have not forgotten to obey your decrees.
