要像期待着主人从婚宴上回来的人那样；好在主人回来敲门的时候，能立刻为他开门。

现在我还是感到欢喜。这并不是因为你们忧伤，而是因为你们忧伤以至于悔改。实际上，你们按神的意思忧伤，使你们在任何事上都不会因我们而受到损失；因为按神的意思忧伤，就生出悔改通向救恩，是不懊悔的；可是属世界的忧伤，却带来死亡。看哪，原来正是这件事——你们按神的意思忧伤——在你们里面带来了何等的殷勤、分辩、义愤、敬畏、渴望、热心和惩罚。你们在各方面都证明了自己在那件事上是纯洁的。

不仅藉着他的到来，也藉着他从你们所受的安慰，安慰了我们，因他向我们报告了你们的渴望、你们的伤痛、你们对我的热心，以致使我更加欢喜。
