正因為這個緣故、你們這方面也要供出十二分的熱切來：要在你們的信心上加以供應美德，在美德上加以供應知識，在知識上加以供應節制，在節制上加以供應堅忍，在堅忍上加以供應虔敬，在虔敬上加以供應弟兄們之相愛，在弟兄們之相愛上加以供應愛全人類的心。因為你們若有這幾樣、並且增多着，就會使你們在認識我們的主耶穌基督上、不至於無能而不結果子了。

藐視你話之人的羞辱呀。消滅他們吧，使你的話成了我的喜樂，我心中所歡喜的哦；因為永恆主萬軍之上帝啊，我是稱為你名下的人呀。

他必愛你，賜福與你，使你人數增多；也必在他向你列祖起誓應許你的土地賜福與你腹中的果子、你土地上的果子、和你的五穀、新酒、和油、你幼小的牛和肥嫩的羊。你必蒙賜福勝過萬族之民；在你中間男的女的都沒有不能生養的；在你的牲口中也沒有不能生育的。

為了這緣故、我們就不住地感謝上帝，因為你們從我們領受了所聽的上帝之道；你們接受了，不認為是人之道，乃認為是上帝之道，也真地是：並且在你們信的人身上運用着動力呢。
