勇士啊，愿你腰间佩刀，大展荣耀和威严，

所以，我们不要沉睡，像别人一样，总要警醒谨慎。因为睡了的人是在夜间睡，醉了的人是在夜间醉。但既然我们属于白昼，就应当谨慎，把信和爱当作护心镜遮胸，把得救的盼望当作头盔戴上。

愿圣民因所得的荣耀欢乐！愿他们在床上也欢呼！愿他们口中称颂上帝为至高，手里有两刃的剑，为要报复列国，惩罚万民。要用链子捆他们的君王，用铁镣锁他们的贵族，要在他们身上施行所记录的审判。他的圣民都享荣耀。哈利路亚！

此外，要拿信德当作盾牌，用来扑灭那恶者一切烧着的箭。要戴上救恩的头盔，拿着圣灵的宝剑—就是上帝的道。要靠着圣灵，随时多方祷告祈求，并要为此警醒不倦，为众圣徒祈求。

“我—耶和华看守葡萄园，按时灌溉，昼夜看守，免得有人损害。

于是，我们做这工程，一半的人拿枪，从天亮直到星宿出现的时候。那时，我又对百姓说：“各人和他的仆人当在耶路撒冷过夜，好为我们夜间守卫，白昼做工。”
