勇士啊，願你腰間佩刀，大展榮耀和威嚴，

你必不怕黑夜的驚駭，或是白日飛的箭，

所以，我們不要沉睡，像別人一樣，總要警醒謹慎。因為睡了的人是在夜間睡，醉了的人是在夜間醉。但既然我們屬於白晝，就應當謹慎，把信和愛當作護心鏡遮胸，把得救的盼望當作頭盔戴上。

願聖民因所得的榮耀歡樂！願他們在床上也歡呼！願他們口中稱頌神為至高，手裏有兩刃的劍，為要報復列國，懲罰萬民。要用鏈子捆他們的君王，用鐵鐐鎖他們的貴族，要在他們身上施行所記錄的審判。他的聖民都享榮耀。哈利路亞！

此外，要拿信德當作盾牌，用來撲滅那惡者一切燒着的箭。要戴上救恩的頭盔，拿着聖靈的寶劍－就是神的道。要靠着聖靈，隨時多方禱告祈求，並要為此警醒不倦，為眾聖徒祈求。

「我－耶和華看守葡萄園，按時灌溉，晝夜看守，免得有人損害。

於是，我們做這工程，一半的人拿槍，從天亮直到星宿出現的時候。那時，我又對百姓說：「各人和他的僕人當在耶路撒冷過夜，好為我們夜間守衛，白晝做工。」
