大能者啊，願你腰間佩刀，大有榮耀和威嚴！

你必不怕黑夜的驚駭，或是白日飛的箭，

所以，我們不要睡覺像別人一樣，總要警醒謹守。因為睡了的人是在夜間睡，醉了的人是在夜間醉。但我們既然屬乎白晝，就應當謹守，把信和愛當作護心鏡遮胸，把得救的盼望當作頭盔戴上。

願聖民因所得的榮耀高興！願他們在牀上歡呼！願他們口中稱讚神為高，手裏有兩刃的刀，為要報復列邦，刑罰萬民。要用鍊子捆他們的君王，用鐵鐐鎖他們的大臣；要在他們身上施行所記錄的審判。他的聖民都有這榮耀。你們要讚美耶和華！

此外，又拿着信德當作盾牌，可以滅盡那惡者一切的火箭；並戴上救恩的頭盔，拿着聖靈的寶劍，就是神的道；靠着聖靈，隨時多方禱告祈求；並要在此警醒不倦，為眾聖徒祈求，

我－耶和華是看守葡萄園的；我必時刻澆灌，晝夜看守，免得有人損害。

於是，我們做工，一半拿兵器，從天亮直到星宿出現的時候。那時，我又對百姓說：「各人和他的僕人當在耶路撒冷住宿，好在夜間保守我們，白晝做工。」
