自謂我必興、遍行邑中、於通衢大道、求我心所愛者、求之不得、

我即興、遊於邑衢、遍行大道、求我夫子、求之不得、

我即興、游於邑中、徧行街衢大道、尋我心之所愛、尋而不得、

I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares; I will search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but did not find him.

有一個人，是從神那裏差來的，名叫約翰。

你們當在耶路撒冷的街上跑來跑去，在寬闊處尋找，看看有一人行公義求誠實沒有？若有，我就赦免這城。

再者，你們曉得，現今就是該趁早睡醒的時候；因為我們得救，現今比初信的時候更近了。

聽從我、日日在我門口仰望、在我門框旁邊等候的，那人便為有福。

你們要醒悟為善，不要犯罪，因為有人不認識神。我說這話是要叫你們羞愧。

因為你是賜我力量的神，為何丟棄我呢？我為何因仇敵的欺壓時常哀痛呢？求你發出你的亮光和真實，好引導我，帶我到你的聖山，到你的居所！我就走到神的祭壇，到我最喜樂的神那裏。神啊，我的神，我要彈琴稱讚你！我的心哪，你為何憂悶？為何在我裏面煩躁？應當仰望神，因我還要稱讚他。他是我臉上的光榮，是我的神。

她在道旁高處的頂上，在十字路口站立，在城門旁，在城門口，在城門洞，大聲說：

難道主要永遠丟棄我，不再施恩嗎？難道他的慈愛永遠窮盡，他的應許世世廢棄嗎？難道神忘記開恩，因發怒就止住他的慈悲嗎？（細拉）我便說：這是我的懦弱，但我要追念至高者顯出右手之年代。

所以主說：你這睡着的人當醒過來，從死裏復活！基督就要光照你了。

並且無人求告你的名；無人奮力抓住你。原來你掩面不顧我們，使我們因罪孽消化。

我起來，要給我良人開門。我的兩手滴下沒藥；我的指頭有沒藥汁滴在門閂上。

那僕人回來，把這事都告訴了主人。家主就動怒，對僕人說：『快出去，到城裏大街小巷，領那貧窮的、殘廢的、瞎眼的、瘸腿的來。』僕人說：『主啊，你所吩咐的已經辦了，還有空座。』主人對僕人說：『你出去到路上和籬笆那裏，勉強人進來，坐滿我的屋子。

我的神，我的神！為甚麼離棄我？為甚麼遠離不救我？不聽我唉哼的言語？我的神啊，我白日呼求，你不應允，夜間呼求，並不住聲。

智慧在街市上呼喊，在寬闊處發聲，在熱鬧街頭喊叫，在城門口，在城中發出言語，

你的瀑布發聲，深淵就與深淵響應；你的波浪洪濤漫過我身。白晝，耶和華必向我施慈愛；黑夜，我要歌頌禱告賜我生命的神。我要對神－我的磐石說：你為何忘記我呢？我為何因仇敵的欺壓時常哀痛呢？

來到門徒那裏，見他們睡着了，就對彼得說：「怎麼樣？你們不能同我警醒片時嗎？總要警醒禱告，免得入了迷惑。你們心靈固然願意，肉體卻軟弱了。」
