I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares; I will search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but did not find him.

有一个人，名叫约翰，是神所差来的。

“你们去走遍耶路撒冷的街道，到处观察留意，又在城的广场上寻觅；如果能找到一个行正义、求诚实的人，我就赦免这城。

还有，你们知道这是什么时期了，现在正是你们应该睡醒的时候，因为我们得救，现在比初信的时候更加接近了。

听从我，天天在我门口警醒仰望，在我门框旁边守候的人，是有福的。

你们理当醒悟过来，不要犯罪，因为你们中间有人不认识神；我说这话是要你们羞愧。

因为你是赐我力量的神。你为什么弃绝我呢？我为什么因仇敌的压迫徘徊悲哀呢？求你发出你的亮光和真理，好引导我，带我到你的圣山，到你的居所。我就走到神的祭坛前，到神、我极大的喜乐那里。神啊！我的神啊！我要弹琴称赞你。我的心哪！你为什么沮丧呢？为什么在我里面不安呢？应当等候神；因为我还要称赞他，他是我面前的救助、我的神。

它在路旁高处的最高点，在十字路口站着；在城门旁，在城门口，在进城门的空地上大声呼喊：

主要永远丢弃我，不再施恩吗？他的慈爱永远消失，他的应许永久废去吗？神忘记施恩，因忿怒而止住他的怜悯吗？（细拉）因此我说：“这是我的忧伤：至高者的右手已经改变了（“至高者的右手已经改变了”或译：“但我要追念至高者显出右手的年代”）！”

因为一切显露出来的就是光，所以有话说：“睡了的人哪，醒过来，从死人中起来吧！基督必要照亮你。”

没有人呼求你的名，没有人奋起抓着你；因为你掩面不顾我们，使我们在自己罪孽的权势下融化。

我起来，要给我的良人开门；我的两手滴下没药，指头滴下没药，滴在门闩上。

仆人回来把这些事告诉他主人，家主就发怒，对仆人说：‘快到城里大街小巷去，把贫穷的、残废的、瞎眼的、瘸腿的，都领到这里来。’仆人说：‘主啊，你所吩咐的已经办了，还有空位。’主人就对仆人说：‘你出去到路边篱畔，勉强人进来，好把我的屋子坐满。

我的神！我的神！你为什么离弃我？为什么远离不救我，不听我呻吟的话呢？我的神啊！我日间呼求，你不应允；在晚上我还是不停止。

智慧在街上呼喊，在广场上扬声；在闹市中心呼叫，在城门口发出言语，说：

你的瀑布一发声，深渊就和深渊响应；你的洪涛和波浪都掩盖了我。白天耶和华赐下他的慈爱；夜间我要向他歌颂，向赐我生命的神祷告。我要对神我的磐石说：“你为什么忘记我呢？我为什么因仇敌的压迫徘徊悲哀呢？”

耶稣回到门徒那里，看见他们都睡着了，就对彼得说：“你们连一个小时也不能同我警醒吗？应当警醒、祷告，免得陷入试探；你们心灵虽然愿意，肉体却是软弱的。”
