自謂我必興、遍行邑中、於通衢大道、求我心所愛者、求之不得、

我即興、遊於邑衢、遍行大道、求我夫子、求之不得、

我即興、游於邑中、徧行街衢大道、尋我心之所愛、尋而不得、

I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares; I will search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but did not find him.

I will get up and go around in the city. I’ll look through all of its streets. I’ll search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but didn’t find him.

有一個人名叫約翰，是上帝差來的。

耶和華說：「你們在耶路撒冷街頭四處看看，在廣場找找，如果你們能找到一個公正誠實的人，我就赦免這城。

還有，要知道現今是你們該醒過來的時候了！因為與初信的時候相比，我們得救的日子更近了。

人若聽從我、天天在我門口仰望、時時在我門邊等候，就有福了。

你們該醒悟了！不要繼續犯罪，因為你們當中有些人不認識上帝。我說這話是要叫你們羞愧。

你是保護我的上帝，你為何丟棄我？為何讓我受仇敵的攻擊，使我哀傷不已呢？求你以光明和真理引導我，領我到你的聖山，到你的居所。我要到上帝的祭壇前，到賜我喜樂的上帝面前。上帝啊，我的上帝，我要彈琴讚美你。我的心啊！你為何沮喪？為何煩躁？要仰望上帝，因為我還要讚美祂——我的救主，我的上帝。

她在路邊高處站立，她在十字街頭停留，在城門旁，在入口處大喊：

「難道主要永遠丟棄我，不再恩待我了嗎？難道祂的慈愛永遠消逝了嗎？祂的應許永遠落空了嗎？難道上帝已忘記施恩，在憤怒中收回了祂的慈愛嗎？」（細拉）於是我說：「我感到悲傷的是，至高者已不再彰顯大能。」

因為光能使一切顯明出來。因此有人說：「沉睡的人啊，醒來吧！從死人中起來吧，基督要光照你了！」

無人呼求你，無人向你求助，因為你掩面不理我們，讓我們在自己的罪中滅亡。

就起來為他開門；我的雙手滴下沒藥，甚至門閂也沾了我指頭滴下的沒藥。

奴僕回來將這些話告訴主人，主人非常生氣，於是對奴僕說，『快出去到城裡的大街小巷把貧窮的、殘疾的、瘸腿的、瞎眼的都請來。』奴僕說，『主人啊，我照你的吩咐辦了，可是還有空位。』主人又說，『出去到大路上、籬笆旁硬把人拉來，讓我家裡座無虛席。

我的上帝，我的上帝，你為何離棄我？為何遲遲不來救我，不聽我的哀號呢？我的上帝啊，我日夜不停地呼求，你卻沒有回應。

智慧在大街上高喊，在廣場上揚聲，在熱鬧的市集宣告，在城門口演說：

你的瀑布發出巨響，迴盪在深淵之間，你的洪濤巨浪淹沒我。白天耶和華將祂的慈愛澆灌我；夜間我歌頌祂，向賜我生命的上帝禱告。我對上帝——我的磐石說：「你為何忘記我？為何要我受仇敵的攻擊，使我哀傷不已呢？」

耶穌回到三個門徒那裡，見他們都睡著了，就對彼得說：「難道你們不能跟我一同警醒一時嗎？你們要警醒禱告，免得陷入誘惑。你們的心靈雖然願意，肉體卻很軟弱。」
