And all the people that[ were] in the gate, and the elders, said,[ We are] witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

在邑門之眾、與諸長老曰、我儕為證、願耶和華使適爾家之婦、如拉結利亞、肇造以色列家者、亦願爾稱豪於以法他、得名於伯利恆、

邑門長老與眾俱曰、我儕為證、昔拉結利亞傳嗣於以色列族、願耶和華使適爾家之婦亦若是、亦願爾於以法大得其財貨、於伯利恆播其聲名。

在邑門之眾民及長老曰、我儕為證、願主使入爾家之婦、如昔建立以色列家之拉結利亞二人、亦願爾在以法他居高位、居高位或作所行皆善在伯利恆揚聲名、

Then the elders and all the people at the gate said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the family of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

Then the elders and all the people at the gate said,“ We are witnesses. The woman is coming into your home. May the Lord make her like Rachel and Leah. Together they built up the family of Israel. May you be an important person in Ephrathah. May you be famous in Bethlehem.

Then all the people who were at the gate and the elders said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman, who is coming into your house, like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you act worthily in Ephrathah and be renowned in Bethlehem,

Then the elders and all the people standing in the gate replied,“ We are witnesses! May the Lord make this woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, from whom all the nation of Israel descended! May you prosper in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

All the people who were at the city gate, including the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. May the LORD make the woman who is entering your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built the house of Israel. May you be powerful in Ephrathah and your name well known in Bethlehem.

And all the people who were in the court, and the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, both of whom built the house of Israel; and may you achieve wealth in Ephrathah and become famous in Bethlehem.

And all the people who were at the gate, and the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. The Lord make the woman who is coming to your house like Rachel and Leah, the two who built the house of Israel; and may you prosper in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. Jehovah make the woman that is come into thy house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

The elders and all the people who were at the gate said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is entering your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built the house of Israel. May you be powerful in Ephrathah and famous in Bethlehem.

All the people who were at the gate and the elders replied,“ We are witnesses. May the LORD make the woman who is entering your home like Rachel and Leah, both of whom built up the house of Israel! May you prosper in Ephrathah and become famous in Bethlehem.

All the people who were in the gate, and the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. May Yahweh make the woman who has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, which both built the house of Israel; and treat you worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Bethlehem.

And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I[ was] hated, he hath therefore given me this[ son] also: and she called his name Simeon.And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said,[ Am] I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.And Bilhah Rachel’s maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife.And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a son.And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a second son.And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son’s mandrakes.And she said unto her,[ Is it] a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son’s mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son’s mandrakes.And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son’s mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son.And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son.And Leah said, God hath endued me[ with] a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah.And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.

Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.

And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing,( for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which[ is] Bethlehem.And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that[ is] the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.

Thy wife[ shall be] as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children,[ and] peace upon Israel.

And thou Bethlehem,[ in] the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah,[ though] thou be little among the thousands of Judah,[ yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me[ that is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth[ have been] from of old, from everlasting.

Lo, children[ are] an heritage of the LORD:[ and] the fruit of the womb[ is his] reward.As arrows[ are] in the hand of a mighty man; so[ are] children of the youth.Happy[ is] the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

And these[ are] the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.These[ be] the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padanaram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters[ were] thirty and three.And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel.These[ are] the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob,[ even] sixteen souls.The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.And the sons of Benjamin[ were] Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.These[ are] the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls[ were] fourteen.And the sons of Dan; Hushim.And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.These[ are] the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls[ were] seven.All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls[ were] threescore and six;And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt,[ were] two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt,[ were] threescore and ten.

And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou[ art] our sister, be thou[ the mother] of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

And it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers’ house, all that are able to go to war in Israel.And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan[ near] Jericho, saying,[ Take the sum of the people], from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben; Hanoch,[ of whom cometh] the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.These[ are] the families of the Reubenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.And the sons of Pallu; Eliab.And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This[ is that] Dathan and Abiram,[ which were] famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD:And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not.The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites: of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites: of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:Of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites: of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.These[ are] the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.The children of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites: of Haggi, the family of the Haggites: of Shuni, the family of the Shunites:Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites: of Eri, the family of the Erites:Of Arod, the family of the Arodites: of Areli, the family of the Arelites.These[ are] the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.The sons of Judah[ were] Er and Onan: and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites: of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.And the sons of Pharez were; of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.These[ are] the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.[ Of] the sons of Issachar after their families:[ of] Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Pua, the family of the Punites:Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites: of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.These[ are] the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.[ Of] the sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites: of Elon, the family of the Elonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.These[ are] the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.The sons of Joseph after their families[ were] Manasseh and Ephraim.Of the sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead[ come] the family of the Gileadites.These[ are] the sons of Gilead:[ of] Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites: of Helek, the family of the Helekites:And[ of] Asriel, the family of the Asrielites: and[ of] Shechem, the family of the Shechemites:And[ of] Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites: and[ of] Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad[ were] Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.These[ are] the families of Manasseh, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.These[ are] the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites: of Becher, the family of the Bachrites: of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.And these[ are] the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.These[ are] the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These[ are] the families of Dan after their families.All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them,[ were] threescore and four thousand and four hundred.[ Of] the children of Asher after their families: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites: of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites: of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.And the name of the daughter of Asher[ was] Sarah.These[ are] the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them;[ who were] fifty and three thousand and four hundred.[ Of] the sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites: of Guni, the family of the Gunites:Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.These[ are] the families of Naphtali according to their families: and they that were numbered of them[ were] forty and five thousand and four hundred.These[ were] the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.According to the lot shall the possession thereof be divided between many and few.And these[ are] they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites: of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the family of the Merarites.These[ are] the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.And the name of Amram’s wife[ was] Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom[ her mother] bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.And unto Aaron was born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the LORD.And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.These[ are] they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan[ near] Jericho.But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

And the name of the man[ was] Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.
