人人都要尊重婚姻，不可玷污夫妻關係，因為上帝必審判淫亂和通姦的人。

雅各愛上了拉結，於是對拉班說：「我願意為你工作七年，請你把拉結許配給我。」拉班說：「把她嫁給你比嫁給外人好，你就留下來吧！」

誰能找到賢德之妻？她的價值遠勝過珠寶。她丈夫信賴她，什麼也不缺乏。

房屋錢財是祖先的遺產，賢慧之妻乃耶和華所賜。

你們還問為什麼。因為耶和華在你和你的髮妻中間作證，她是你的配偶，是你盟約的妻子，你卻對她不忠。

雅各曾逃往亞蘭，以色列在那裡為娶妻而服侍人，為得到妻子而替人牧羊。

你的後裔必多如海沙，你的子孫必像細沙一樣不可勝數，他們的名號絕不會從我面前被剷除、被消滅。」

願耶和華永不忘記他的罪惡，把他從世上剷除。

「到那天，我必剷除地上偶像的名號，使它們被人遺忘；我必除去地上的假先知和污穢的靈。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。
