第七日，亞哈隨魯王飲酒，心中快樂，就吩咐在他面前侍立的七個太監米戶幔、比斯他、哈波拿、比革他、亞拔他、西達、甲迦，

我就稱讚快樂，原來人在日光之下，最大的福氣莫過於吃喝快樂；他在日光之下，上帝賜他一生的日子，要從勞碌中享受所得。

得酒能悅人心，得油能潤人面，得糧能養人心。

難道一個人有吃有喝，且在勞碌中享福，不是福氣嗎？我看這也是出於上帝的手。

你只管歡歡喜喜吃你的飯，心中快樂喝你的酒，因為上帝已經悅納你的作為。

擺設宴席是為歡樂。酒能使人快活，錢能叫萬事應心。

他們心裏歡樂的時候，看哪，城中的無賴圍住房子，連連叩門，對老人，這家的主人說：「把那進你家的人帶出來，我們要與他交合。」

他們心裏高興的時候，就說：「叫參孫來，逗我們歡樂。」於是他們把參孫從監獄裏提出來，在他們面前戲耍。他們叫他站在兩根柱子中間。

我知道，人除了終身喜樂納福，沒有一件幸福的事。並且人人吃喝，在他的一切勞碌中享福，這也是上帝的賞賜。

約瑟把他面前的食物分給他們，但便雅憫所得的比別人多五倍。他們就喝酒，和約瑟一同暢飲。

耶洗別王后對王說：「你現在是不是治理以色列國呢？只管起來，心裏暢暢快快地吃飯，我會把耶斯列人拿伯的葡萄園給你。」

不要醉酒，酒能使人放蕩；要被聖靈充滿。

所以，你們或吃或喝，無論做甚麼，都要為榮耀上帝而做。
