Now Boaz, with whose women you have worked, is a relative of ours. Tonight he will be winnowing barley on the threshing floor.

You have been working with the women who work for Boaz. He’s a relative of ours. Tonight he’ll be separating the straw from his barley on the threshing floor.

Is not Boaz our relative, with whose young women you were? See, he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing floor.

Boaz is a close relative of ours, and he’s been very kind by letting you gather grain with his young women. Tonight he will be winnowing barley at the threshing floor.

Now isn’t Boaz our relative? Haven’t you been working with his female servants? This evening he will be winnowing barley on the threshing floor.

Now then, is Boaz not our relative, with whose young women you were? Behold, he is winnowing barley at the threshing floor tonight.

And now is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to- night in the threshing- floor.

So Boaz said to Ruth,“ Listen carefully, my dear! Do not leave to gather grain in another field. You need not go beyond the limits of this field. You may go along beside my female workers.

If brothers live together and one of them dies without having a son, the dead man’s wife must not remarry someone outside the family. Instead, her late husband’s brother must go to her, marry her, and perform the duty of a brother-in-law.Then the first son she bears will continue the name of the dead brother, thus preventing his name from being blotted out of Israel.But if the man does not want to marry his brother’s widow, then she must go to the elders at the town gate and say,“ My husband’s brother refuses to preserve his brother’s name in Israel; he is unwilling to perform the duty of a brother-in-law to me!”Then the elders of his city must summon him and speak to him. If he persists, saying,“ I don’t want to marry her,”then his sister-in-law must approach him in view of the elders, remove his sandal from his foot, and spit in his face. She will then respond,“ Thus may it be done to any man who does not maintain his brother’s family line!”His family name will be referred to in Israel as“ the family of the one whose sandal was removed.”

Naomi said to her daughter-in-law,“ May he be rewarded by the LORD because he has shown loyalty to the living on behalf of the dead!” Then Naomi said to her,“ This man is a close relative of ours; he is our guardian.”Ruth the Moabite replied,“ He even told me,‘ You may go along beside my servants until they have finished gathering all my harvest!’”Naomi then said to her daughter-in-law Ruth,“ It is good, my daughter, that you should go out to work with his female servants. That way you will not be harmed, which could happen in another field.”So Ruth worked beside Boaz’s female servants, gathering grain until the end of the barley harvest as well as the wheat harvest. After that she stayed home with her mother-in-law.

Now Naomi had a relative on her husband’s side of the family named Boaz. He was a wealthy, prominent man from the clan of Elimelech.

For indeed he who makes holy and those being made holy all have the same origin, and so he is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,saying,“ I will proclaim your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.”Again he says,“ I will be confident in him,” and again,“ Here I am, with the children God has given me.”Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death( that is, the devil),
