你今晚就留在这里，明天早上，如果他答应尽亲属的义务，就由他照顾你；如果他不肯，我凭永活的耶和华起誓，我会尽我的本分。现在你只管安心睡觉吧。”

今晚你就在这里过夜，明早如果他肯尽买赎你的本分，好，就由他来履行；假如他不愿意这样作，我指着永活的耶和华起誓，我一定尽买赎你的本分。你只管躺到天亮吧。”

今夜你就在这里过夜吧！到了清晨，如果他要赎取你，那好，就让他赎取你；但如果他不愿意赎取你，我指着耶和华的永生起誓：我必赎取你。你就安心躺到清晨吧！”

Stay here for the night, and in the morning if he wants to do his duty as your guardian- redeemer, good; let him redeem you. But if he is not willing, as surely as the Lord lives I will do it. Lie here until morning.”

So stay here for the night. In the morning if he wants to help you, good. Let him help you. But if he doesn’t want to, then I’ll do it. You can be sure that the Lord lives. And you can be just as sure that I’ll help you. Lie down here until morning.”

Remain tonight, and in the morning, if he will redeem you, good; let him do it. But if he is not willing to redeem you, then, as the Lord lives, I will redeem you. Lie down until the morning.”

Stay here tonight, and in the morning I will talk to him. If he is willing to redeem you, very well. Let him marry you. But if he is not willing, then as surely as the Lord lives, I will redeem you myself! Now lie down here until morning.”

Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning,[ that] if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman’s part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee,[ as] the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.

Remain here tonight. Then in the morning, if he agrees to marry you, fine, let him do so. But if he does not want to do so, I promise, as surely as the LORD lives, to marry you. Sleep here until morning.”

Then Boaz said,“ On the day you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you must also buy it from Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to perpetuate the name of the dead through his inheritance.”

And you shall swear,‘ The Lord lives,’ In truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; The nations shall bless themselves in Him, And in Him they shall glory.”

Then Naomi said to her daughter-in-law,“ Blessed be he of the Lord, who has not forsaken His kindness to the living and the dead!” And Naomi said to her,“ This man is a relation of ours, one of our close relatives.”

Then he said,“ They were my brothers, the sons of my mother. As the Lord lives, if you had let them live, I would not kill you.”

For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute.

saying:“ Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother.Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh.Last of all the woman died also.

“ If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the widow of the dead man shall not be married to a stranger outside the family; her husband’s brother shall go in to her, take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.And it shall be that the firstborn son which she bears will succeed to the name of his dead brother, that his name may not be blotted out of Israel.But if the man does not want to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate to the elders, and say,‘ My husband’s brother refuses to raise up a name to his brother in Israel; he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.’Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak to him. But if he stands firm and says,‘ I do not want to take her,’then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, remove his sandal from his foot, spit in his face, and answer and say,‘ So shall it be done to the man who will not build up his brother’s house.’

Moreover I call God as witness against my soul, that to spare you I came no more to Corinth.
