Naomi said to Ruth her daughter- in- law,“ It will be good for you, my daughter, to go with the women who work for him, because in someone else’s field you might be harmed.”

Naomi replied to her daughter- in- law Ruth. She said,“ That will be good for you, my daughter. Go with the women who work for him. You might be harmed if you go to someone else’s field.”

And Naomi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law,“ It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, lest in another field you be assaulted.”

“ Good!” Naomi exclaimed.“ Do as he said, my daughter. Stay with his young women right through the whole harvest. You might be harassed in other fields, but you’ll be safe with him.”

So Naomi said to her daughter-in-law Ruth,“ My daughter, it is good for you to work with his female servants, so that nothing will happen to you in another field.”

And Naomi said to her daughter in law Ruth,“ It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, so that others do not assault you in another field.”

And Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law,“ It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, and that people do not meet you in any other field.”

And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter- in- law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, and that they meet thee not in any other field.

So Naomi said to her daughter-in-law Ruth,“ My daughter, it is good for you to work with his female servants, so that nothing will happen to you in another field.”

And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law,[ It is] good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.

Naomi then said to her daughter-in-law Ruth,“ It is good, my daughter, that you should go out to work with his female servants. That way you will not be harmed, which could happen in another field.”

Naomi said to Ruth her daughter- in- law,“ It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his maidens, and that they not meet you in any other field.”

Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family, and do not go to your relative’s house when disaster strikes you— better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away. (niv)
