巴拿巴到了那裏，看見上帝的恩，就歡喜，又鼓勵眾人以心中的定志緊依附着主。

還在白日時候、眾民都來勸大衛喫飯；大衛起誓說：『我若在日頭未落以前喫飯、或喫任何東西，願上帝這樣懲罰我，並且加重地懲罰。』

耶洗別就差遣使者去見以利亞說：『明天大約這時候、我若不使你的性命像那些人的性命一樣，願神明這樣懲罰我，並且加倍地懲罰。』
