But Naomi replied,“ Why should you go on with me? Can I still give birth to other sons who could grow up to be your husbands?

拿俄米说：“我的女儿啊，回娘家去吧！为什么要跟我去呢？难道我还能生儿子做你们的丈夫吗？

拿俄米说：“我女儿啊，你们回去吧，为什么要跟我去呢？我肚子里还有儿子作你们的丈夫吗？

娜娥米说：“我的女儿们哪，回去吧！为什么要与我一起走呢？难道我腹中还有儿子将来可以作你们的丈夫吗？

拿俄米說：「我女兒們哪，回去吧！為何要跟我去呢？我還能生子作你們的丈夫嗎？

拿娥米說：「我的女兒啊，回去吧！為何要跟我去呢？我還能生兒子作你們的丈夫嗎？

拿娥米說：「我的女兒啊，回去吧！為何要跟我去呢？我還能生兒子作你們的丈夫嗎？

拿俄米說：「我的女兒啊，回娘家去吧！為什麼要跟我去呢？難道我還能生兒子做你們的丈夫嗎？

拿俄米說：“我女兒啊，你們回去吧，為甚麼要跟我去呢？我肚子裡還有兒子作你們的丈夫嗎？

拿俄米說：『我女兒們哪，回去吧！為甚麼要跟我去呢？難道我腹中還有兒子可以給你們做丈夫麼？

娜娥米說：「我的女兒們哪，回去吧！為什麼要與我一起走呢？難道我腹中還有兒子將來可以作你們的丈夫嗎？

拿俄米曰、吾女歟、其歸哉、曷欲與我偕往、我猶孕子為爾夫乎、

拿阿米曰、吾女盍歸、與我偕亦何裨、我豈能再生子、為爾夫乎。

拿俄米曰、我女歸哉、何為與我偕往、我豈能再生子為爾夫乎、

But Naomi said,“ Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could become your husbands?

But Naomi said,“ Go home, my daughters. Why would you want to come with me? Am I going to have any more sons who could become your husbands?

But Naomi said,“ Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Have I yet sons in my womb that they may become your husbands?

But Naomi replied,“ Return home, my daughters. Why do you want to go with me? Am I able to have any more sons who could become your husbands?

But Naomi said,“ Return, my daughters. Why should you go with me? Do I still have sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

But Naomi said,“ Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Are there still sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? have I yet sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

But Naomi replied,“ Return home, my daughters. Why do you want to go with me? Am I able to have any more sons who could become your husbands?

And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me?[ are] there yet[ any more] sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

But Naomi replied,“ Go back home, my daughters! There is no reason for you to return to Judah with me! I am no longer capable of giving birth to sons who might become your husbands!

Naomi said,“ Go back, my daughters. Why do you want to go with me? Do I still have sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

“ If two brothers are living together on the same property and one of them dies without a son, his widow may not be married to anyone from outside the family. Instead, her husband’s brother should marry her and have intercourse with her to fulfill the duties of a brother in law.

Then Judah said to Tamar, his daughter in law,“ Go back to your parents’ home and remain a widow until my son Shelah is old enough to marry you.”( But Judah didn’t really intend to do this because he was afraid Shelah would also die, like his two brothers.) So Tamar went back to live in her father’s home.
