田畝荒蕪、邦國號呼、五穀已盡、酒釀已罄、膏油已匱、土產已絕、麰麥小麥、歸於烏有、農夫含羞、場師抱愧、

所種之田、必播之多、而獲之少、被噬於蝗。

耶和華又曰、我使爾邑中、糈糧匱乏、齒間絕食、爾尚不歸誠於我、

其後伯利恆人益撒為士師於以色列族、歷至七年、有子三十、女三十、女皆適人、子皆娶媳。

基列之的庇人、以利亞告亞哈曰、我指所事以色列族之上帝耶和華而誓、今以後、數年間雨露不降、惟我言是聽。耶和華命之曰、汝往哉、適彼東方、近約但之基立、隱於溪濱、可飲溪水、我命阿利冰族、供爾養贍。以利亞遵命而往、至約但東之基立溪居焉。阿利冰族以餅以肉攜之而至、無間朝夕、所飲者此溪之水。日久無雨、溪水盡涸。耶和華命曰、往居西頓之撒勒大、我命嫠婦供養爾。遂往撒勒大、近邑門、見嫠婦採薪、呼之曰、請爾以一勺之水飲我。婦欲往時、又呼曰、請爾以片餅與我。曰、我指爾之上帝耶和華以誓、我家無餅、所有者惟器中之粉一握、瓶中之油少許、我採薪才盈二束、欲歸而烹之、備我及子食之而死。

時以色列族無王、有利未人、旅以法蓮山麓、取妾於猶大、伯利恆邑。妾不悅其夫、離之歸於父家、居彼四月。

主耶和華又曰、我使四災降於耶路撒冷、鋒刃、饑饉、暴獸、瘟疫、使人畜靡有孑遺、其害豈非尤重乎。

爾恃強驕肆、我必毀爾、使爾天地堅若銅鐵、
