糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了嗎？歡喜快樂不是從我們上帝的殿中止息了嗎？種子在土塊下朽爛，倉荒涼，廩破壞，因為五穀枯乾了。牲畜哀鳴，牛羣混亂，因無草場，羊羣也受苦。耶和華啊，我向你求告，因為有火吞噬野地的草場，火焰燒盡田野的樹木。田野的走獸切慕你，因為溪水乾涸，火吞噬了野地的草場。

田荒涼，地悲哀；因為五穀毀壞，新酒枯竭，新的油也缺乏。農夫啊，你們要慚愧；修整葡萄園的啊，你們要哀號；因為大麥、小麥與田間的莊稼全都毀了。

你撒在田裏的種子雖多，收的卻少，因為蝗蟲把它吃光了。

「我使你們在每一座城裏牙齒乾淨，使你們各處的糧食缺乏，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。

耶弗他以後，有伯利恆人以比讚作以色列的士師。

住在基列的提斯比人以利亞對亞哈說：「我指着所事奉永生的耶和華－以色列的上帝起誓，這幾年我若不禱告，必不降露水，也不下雨。」耶和華的話臨到以利亞，說：「你離開這裏往東去，躲在約旦河東邊的基立溪旁。你要喝那溪裏的水，我已吩咐烏鴉在那裏供養你。」於是以利亞去了，他遵照耶和華的話做，去住在約旦河東的基立溪旁。烏鴉早上給他叼餅和肉來，晚上也有餅和肉，他又喝溪裏的水。過了些日子溪水乾了，因為雨沒有下在地上。耶和華的話臨到他，說：「你起身到西頓的撒勒法去，住在那裏，看哪，我已吩咐那裏的一個寡婦供養你。」以利亞就起身往撒勒法去。他到了城門，看哪，有一個寡婦在那裏撿柴。以利亞呼喚她說：「請你用器皿取點水來給我喝。」她去取水的時候，以利亞又呼喚她說：「請你手裏也拿點餅來給我。」她說：「我指着永生的耶和華－你的上帝起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，瓶裏只有一點油。看哪，我去找兩根柴，帶回家為我和我兒子做餅。我們吃了，就等死吧！」

我必粉碎你們因勢力而有的驕傲，又要使你們的天堅如鐵，地硬如銅。
