For this is what the promise declared:“ About a year from now I will return and Sarah will have a son.”

因為上帝所說的：『明年大約這時候我要來，撒拉必生個兒子』這句話、就是一句應許的話。

原來所應許的話是這樣的：「到明年這時候我要來，撒拉會生一個兒子。」

其所許之言云、屆期我至、撒拉必生子、

其所許之言云、屆期吾至、撒拉氏必生子、

所許之言云、屆期我至、而撒拉必生子、

恩諾云何？曰：『明年此時、予當重臨、灑蕾必產麟兒。』

For this was how the promise was stated:“ At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”

God promised,“ I will return at the appointed time. Sarah will have a son.”( Genesis 18:10, 14)

For this is what the promise said:“ About this time next year I will return, and Sarah shall have a son.”

For God had promised,“ I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

For this is the statement of the promise: At this time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.

For this is the word of promise:“ At this time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.”

For this is the word of promise:“ At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.”

For this is a word of promise, According to this season will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.

For this is the statement of the promise: At this time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.

For this[ is] the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

For this is a word of promise,“ At the appointed time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.”

One of them said,“ I will surely return to you when the season comes round again, and your wife Sarah will have a son!”( Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, not far behind him.

Is anything impossible for the LORD? I will return to you when the season comes round again and Sarah will have a son.”

But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this set time next year.”

So Sarah became pregnant and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the appointed time that God had told him.

By faith, even though Sarah herself was barren and he was too old, he received the ability to procreate, because he regarded the one who had given the promise to be trustworthy.So in fact children were fathered by one man– and this one as good as dead– like the number of stars in the sky and like the innumerable grains of sand on the seashore.

By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He had received the promises, yet he was ready to offer up his only son.
