於此可見天主之子女、不以血統為據、而惟恩諾是憑。

In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.

其實，你們藉着信，在基督耶穌裏都成為上帝的兒女。你們凡受洗歸入基督的都披戴基督了：不再分猶太人或希臘人，不再分為奴的自主的，不再分男的女的，因為你們在基督耶穌裏都成為一了。既然你們屬於基督，你們就是亞伯拉罕的子孫，是照着應許承受產業的了。

並且，他受了割禮的記號，作他未受割禮的時候因信稱義的印證，為使他作一切未受割禮而信之人的父，使他們也算為義，也使他作受割禮之人的父，就是那些不但受割禮，而且跟隨我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕未受割禮而信的足跡的人。因為上帝給亞伯拉罕和他後裔承受世界的應許不是藉着律法，而是藉着信而得的義。若是屬於律法的人才是後嗣，信就落空了，應許也就失效了。因為律法是惹動憤怒的，哪裏沒有律法，哪裏就沒有過犯。所以，人作後嗣是出於信，因此就屬乎恩，以致應許保證歸給所有的後裔，不但歸給那屬於律法的，也歸給那效法亞伯拉罕之信的人。亞伯拉罕所信的是那叫死人復活、使無變為有的上帝，在這位上帝面前亞伯拉罕成為我們眾人的父，如經上所記：「我已經立你作多國之父。」

當耶和華記錄萬民的時候，他要寫出人的出生地。（細拉）

因為律法上記着，亞伯拉罕有兩個兒子，一個是使女生的，一個是自由的婦人生的。那使女所生的是按着肉體生的；那自由的婦人所生的是憑着應許生的。這是比方：那兩個婦人就是兩個約；一個婦人是出於西奈山，生子為奴，就是夏甲。這夏甲是指着阿拉伯的西奈山，與現在的耶路撒冷同類，因為耶路撒冷和她的兒女都是為奴的。但另一婦人就是在上的耶路撒冷，是自由的，她是我們的母親。因為經上記着：「不懷孕、不生養的，你要歡樂；未曾經過產難的，你要高聲歡呼；因為沒有丈夫的，比有丈夫的有更多的兒女。」弟兄們，你們是憑着應許作兒女的，如同以撒一樣。當時，那按着肉體生的迫害了那按着聖靈生的，現在也是這樣。然而經上是怎麼說的呢？是說：「把使女和她兒子趕出去！因為使女的兒子絕不能與自由婦人的兒子一同承受產業。」弟兄們，這樣看來，我們不是使女的兒女，而是自由婦人的兒女了。

因為凡被上帝的靈引導的都是上帝的兒子。

我們不是被他看作外人嗎？因為他賣了我們，還吞吃了我們的銀錢。

必有後裔事奉他，主所做的事必傳給後代。
