也不因為他們是亞伯拉罕的後裔，就都成為他的兒女，只有“以撒生的，才可以稱為你的後裔”，

亦非因其為亞伯拉罕之裔、遂盡為子、經云、由於以撒者、乃謂爾裔也、

為亞伯拉罕裔者、不得盡為嗣子、經云、惟出自以撒者、得謂爾裔焉、

亦非因係亞伯拉罕之裔、皆得為子、經載主云、惟由以撒而生者、方可稱為爾裔、

而亞伯漢之苗裔、亦非必盡為其子女。經云：『惟依灑格所生、乃得稱為汝裔。』

Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary,“ It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”

Not everyone in Abraham’s family line is really his child. Not at all! Scripture says,“ Your family line will continue through Isaac.”( Genesis 21:12)

and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but“ Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

Being descendants of Abraham doesn’t make them truly Abraham’s children. For the Scriptures say,“ Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted,” though Abraham had other children, too.

Neither is it the case that all of Abraham’s children are his descendants. On the contrary, your offspring will be traced through Isaac.

nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but:“ through Isaac your descendants shall be named.”

nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but,“ In Isaac your seed shall be called.”

neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Neither are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants. On the contrary, your offspring will be traced through Isaac.

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham,[ are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

nor are all the children Abraham’s true descendants; rather“ through Isaac will your descendants be counted.”

Neither, because they are Abraham’s offspring, are they all children. But,“ your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac.”

神對亞伯拉罕說：“不要因這童子和你的婢女而煩惱。撒拉對你說的話，你都要聽從；因為以撒生的，才可以稱為你的後裔。

論到這個兒子，曾經有話說：“以撒生的，才可以稱為你的後裔。”

我知道你們是亞伯拉罕的後裔；但你們想殺我，因為你們心裡不能容納我的道。我所說的，是我在父那裡看見的；但你們所作的，卻是從你們的父那裡聽見的。”他們說：“我們的祖宗是亞伯拉罕。”耶穌說：“你們若是亞伯拉罕的子孫，就必作亞伯拉罕所作的。

其實我們這些靠神的靈來敬拜，在基督耶穌裡誇口而不倚靠肉體的人，才是受割禮的，

應當結出果子來，與悔改的心相稱；你們心裡不要說：‘我們有亞伯拉罕作我們的祖宗。’我告訴你們，神能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起後裔來。

但那出於婢女的，是按著肉體生的；那出於自由的婦人的，是憑著應許生的。

他說：‘不然，我祖亞伯拉罕啊，如果有人從死人中復活，到他們那裡去，他們必定會悔改。’

就喊著說：‘我祖亞伯拉罕啊，可憐我吧！打發拉撒路來用指頭蘸點水，涼涼我的舌頭吧！因為我在這火燄裡非常痛苦。’亞伯拉罕說：‘孩子，你應該回想你生前享過福，同樣拉撒路受過苦，現在他在這裡得安慰，你卻要受苦了。

他們說：“我們是亞伯拉罕的後裔，從來沒有被誰奴役過，你怎麼說‘你們必得自由’呢？”
