但這並不是說、上帝的話似乎廢墮了。原來從以色列而出的、並不都是「以色列人」。

这不是说神的话落了空。因为从以色列生的不都是以色列人，

当然，这并不表示上帝的话落了空，因为从以色列生的，不一定都是以色列人，

但这并不是说神的话语落了空，因为由以色列所生的，并不都是以色列人；

這不是說神的話落了空。因為從以色列生的不都是以色列人，

這不是說上帝的話落了空。因為從以色列生的不都是以色列人，

這不是說神的話落了空。因為從以色列生的不都是以色列人，

當然，這並不表示上帝的話落了空，因為從以色列生的，不一定都是以色列人，

當然，這不是說神的話落了空，因為出自以色列的，不都是以色列人；

但這並不是說神的話語落了空，因為由以色列所生的，並不都是以色列人；

非謂上帝之言廢也、蓋出於以色列者、非盡以色列人、

夫上帝之言不廢、由以色列生者、不得盡為以色列人、

然此非謂天主之言廢也、蓋由以色列生者、非皆為以色列人、

然則天主果食其言矣乎？無是理也！蓋出自義塞者、非必盡為義塞人；

It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

I do not mean that God’s word has failed. Not everyone in the family line of Israel really belongs to Israel.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,

Well then, has God failed to fulfill his promise to Israel? No, for not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God’s people!

Now it is not as though the word of God has failed, because not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;

But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel,

But it is not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel:

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they[ are] not all Israel, which are of Israel:

It is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are truly Israel,

But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Israel that are of Israel.

凡依這準繩按規矩行的，願平安憐憫加給他們，也加給上帝的以色列民。

因為外表上做猶太人的、並不是真的猶太人；外表上肉身上的割禮、也不是真的割禮。惟獨那在心裏面做猶太人的、才是真的猶太人。那屬於心的割禮、才是真的割禮——本着靈、不本着典籍的。這種人之受稱讚、不是由於人，乃是由於上帝。

就使有取了不信態度的，能怎麼樣呢？難道他們之不信能廢掉上帝之可信靠麼？

耶穌見拿但業向自己那裏走來，就論到他說：『看哪，真是個以色列人，他裏面沒有詭詐的！』

上帝不是人、以致能撒謊，也不是人類、以致能後悔：他說話、哪不照着行呢？他發言、那不能成就呢？

也做受割禮的人的父，做那些不但受割禮、並且照我們祖宗亞伯拉罕沒受割禮時的信心之腳蹤而按規矩行的人的父。向亞伯拉罕或他後裔發的那應許、使他承受得世界為產業的、並不是憑着律法，乃是憑着信心而稱的義。假使本着律法的人才是承受產業的，那麼信就落了空，應許也就失效了。因為律法能使上帝的義怒起作用；哪裏沒有律法，哪裏就沒有犯法的事。就是因為這個緣故、所以才本着信、要使應許確定，按照恩典、給予一切後裔，不但給予那本着律法的人，也給予那本着亞伯拉罕之信的人。

那麼我要說，上帝把他的子民推開了麼？斷乎沒有；我自己也是以色列人，出於亞伯拉罕的後裔，屬便雅憫支派的。上帝並沒有把他所豫知的子民推開啊。你們不曉得經上在以利亞那段所說的麼？他怎樣向上帝懇求告以色列說：

上帝的話所臨到的人，上帝尚且稱他們為神（經典又是不能廢的）；

照樣，我的話、從我口中發出的、也怎樣不徒然返回於我，總要作成我所主意的，使我所發表到的事都得成功。

我們若不信他，他仍舊是可信的；因為他不能否認自己。』

天地會過去，我的話斷不能過去。

照這樣、上帝呢，上帝既定意向那些承受應許的後嗣更充分指明他計畫之不可更改，也就加上了起誓作保，好讓我們這些逃難的人、藉這兩件不可更改的事、就是上帝所不能撒謊的、得強有力的鼓勵，去抓住那擺在我們前頭的指望。
