但这并不是说神的话语落了空，因为由以色列所生的，并不都是以色列人；

非謂上帝之言廢也、蓋出於以色列者、非盡以色列人、

夫上帝之言不廢、由以色列生者、不得盡為以色列人、

然此非謂天主之言廢也、蓋由以色列生者、非皆為以色列人、

然則天主果食其言矣乎？無是理也！蓋出自義塞者、非必盡為義塞人；

It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

I do not mean that God’s word has failed. Not everyone in the family line of Israel really belongs to Israel.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,

Well then, has God failed to fulfill his promise to Israel? No, for not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God’s people!

Now it is not as though the word of God has failed, because not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;

But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel,

But it is not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel:

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they[ are] not all Israel, which are of Israel:

It is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are truly Israel,

But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Israel that are of Israel.

凡是照着这原则行走的人，愿平安和怜悯临到他们，也临到神的以色列民！

其实外表上做犹太人的，并不是犹太人；外表上、肉身上的割礼，也不是割礼。然而，在内心做犹太人的才是犹太人；同样，内心的割礼才是割礼——不是靠着律法条文而是靠着圣灵；这样的人得到的称赞不是从人来的，而是从神来的。

即使他们中有些人不信，到底又怎么样呢？难道他们的不信会使神的信实无效吗？

耶稣看见拿旦业向他走来，就指着他说：“看，一个真正的以色列人！他里面没有诡诈。”

而且他也成为受割礼之人的父，不仅为那些受了割礼的人，还为那些顺着我们的先祖亚伯拉罕信心之脚踪行走的人；亚伯拉罕的信心在他没有受割礼的时候就已经有了。原来，赐给亚伯拉罕和他后裔继承世界的应许，不是藉着律法，而是藉着因信而得的义。这是因为，如果本于律法的才是继承人，信就落了空，应许也就无效了。事实上，律法带来了震怒，所以哪里没有律法，哪里也就没有过犯。为此，这应许是本于信，好使这应许照着恩典，能确保给所有的后裔——不仅是给属律法的，也是给属亚伯拉罕信心的。亚伯拉罕在神面前是我们每个人的父，

那么，我要问，难道神弃绝了他的子民吗？绝对没有！其实我也是以色列人，亚伯拉罕的后裔，属于便雅悯支派。神并没有弃绝自己预先所知道的子民。难道你们不知道那有关以利亚的经文怎么说吗？他怎样向神抱怨以色列人呢？

而经上的话是不能废除的。神既然称那些承受他话语的人为神，

照样，从我口中发出的话语也不徒然返回于我，却要成就我的意愿，在我派遣它去做的事上成功。

我们如果不信实，他仍然是信实的，因为他不能否定自己。

天和地将要消逝，但是我的话绝不会消逝。

为此，神想要对那些继承应许的人格外表明他的计划是不能更改的，就用所起的誓来保证。藉着这两件不能更改的事——在这些事上，神不可能说谎——使我们这些逃往避难所、抓住那摆在前面盼望的人，可以得到极大的鼓励。
