当然，这不是说神的话落了空，因为出自以色列的，不都是以色列人；

非謂上帝之言廢也、蓋出於以色列者、非盡以色列人、

夫上帝之言不廢、由以色列生者、不得盡為以色列人、

然此非謂天主之言廢也、蓋由以色列生者、非皆為以色列人、

然則天主果食其言矣乎？無是理也！蓋出自義塞者、非必盡為義塞人；

It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

I do not mean that God’s word has failed. Not everyone in the family line of Israel really belongs to Israel.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,

Well then, has God failed to fulfill his promise to Israel? No, for not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God’s people!

Now it is not as though the word of God has failed, because not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;

But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel,

But it is not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel:

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they[ are] not all Israel, which are of Israel:

It is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are truly Israel,

But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Israel that are of Israel.

所有照这准则而行的人，愿平安怜悯临到他们，就是临到神的以色列。

因为表面上作犹太人的并不是犹太人，在肉身上表面的割礼也不是割礼。唯有在内心作犹太人的才是犹太人；割礼也是心里的，是靠着圣灵而不是靠着仪文。这样的人所受的称赞，不是从人来的，而是从神来的。

即使有人不信，又有什么关系呢？难道他们的不信会使神的信实无效吗？

耶稣看见拿但业向他走过来，就论到他说：“看哪，这的确是个以色列人，他心里没有诡诈。”

神不是人，必不致说谎，也不是人子，必不致后悔。他说话，怎能不作？他发言，怎能不作成？

又作受割礼之人的父，就是作那些不仅受割礼，并且照着我们祖宗亚伯拉罕未受割礼时就信的那脚踪而行之人的父。原来神给亚伯拉罕和他后裔承受世界的应许，并不是因着律法，而是藉着因信而来的义。如果属于律法的人才能成为后嗣，信就没有作用，应许也就落空了。因为律法带来刑罚，没有律法，就没有违背律法的事。所以，成为后嗣是因着信，为的是要按着神的恩典，使给所有后裔的应许坚定不移，不但临到那属于律法的人，也临到那效法亚伯拉罕而信的人。亚伯拉罕在神面前作我们众人的父，

那么我要说，难道神丢弃了他的子民吗？绝对没有！因为我自己也是以色列人，是亚伯拉罕的后裔，属于便雅悯支派的。神并没有丢弃他预先知道的子民。难道你们不知道在经上以利亚的话是怎样说的吗？他向神控诉以色列人：

圣经是不能废除的，如果那些承受神的道的人，神尚且称他们是神，

从我的口所出的话也必这样，必不徒然返回我这里，却要作成我所喜悦的，使它在我差遣它去作的事上必然亨通。

我们纵然不信，他仍然是信实的，因为他不能否定自己。”这话是可信的。

天地都要过去，但我的话决不会废去。

照样，神定意向那些承受应许的人，更清楚地表明他的旨意是不更改的，就用起誓作保证。这两件事是不能更改的，因为神是决不说谎的。因此，我们这些逃进避难所的人，就大得安慰，抓紧那摆在我们面前的盼望。
