以賽亞言以色列人曰、以色列眾子、其數雖如海沙、而得救者有幾、

以賽亞指以色列人呼云、以色列眾子、雖如海沙、而得救者惟餘數耳、

意灑雅亦曾大聲疾呼、而告國人曰：『即使義塞子孫多於海沙、蒙救者亦不過餘數而已。

Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:“ Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved.

And concerning Israel, Isaiah the prophet cried out,“ Though the people of Israel are as numerous as the sand of the seashore, only a remnant will be saved.

And Isaiah cries out on behalf of Israel,“ Though the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved,

Isaiah cries concerning Israel,“ If the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant who will be saved;

到那日，以色列的餘民，就是雅各家的倖存者，將不再倚靠欺壓他們的亞述，他們將真心倚靠耶和華——以色列的聖者，重新歸向全能的上帝。以色列啊，你的人民雖多如海沙，將只有剩餘的人歸回。充滿公義的毀滅之事已定。因為主——萬軍之耶和華必按所定的在整個大地上施行毀滅。

上帝怎樣回答呢？祂說：「我為自己留下七千人，他們未曾跪拜巴力。」現在的情況也是一樣，上帝按照揀選的恩典留下了少數人。既然說是出於恩典，就不再基於行為，不然恩典就不再是恩典了。

「然而，以色列的人數必像海沙一樣量不盡、數不完。從前我在什麼地方對他們說『你們不是我的子民』，將來也要在那裡對他們說『你們是永活上帝的兒女』。

你們要去毀壞她的葡萄園，但不可徹底毀壞。要砍掉枝子，因為那些枝子不屬於耶和華。

我必賜福給你，使你的後裔多如天上的星和海邊的沙。你的後裔必佔領仇敵的城池，

若不是萬軍之耶和華讓我們一些人存活，我們早就像所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣滅亡了。

「『不過，我必為你們留下一些人，使他們脫離刀劍之災，四散到各國。

到那日，主必再次伸手從亞述、埃及、巴特羅、古實、以攔、示拿、哈馬和眾海島救回祂剩餘的子民。

猶大王烏西雅、約坦、亞哈斯和希西迦執政期間，亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞看到了以下有關猶大和耶路撒冷的異象。

世上萬民所剩無幾，像打過的橄欖樹，又如摘過的葡萄樹。

我們豈能再違背你的誡命，與這些行為可憎的人通婚？若我們這樣行，你豈不發怒毀滅我們，使我們無一倖免嗎？

但如今我們的上帝耶和華暫且施恩於我們，為我們存留一些餘民，使我們安然住在這聖潔之地。你使我們眼睛明亮，在我們受奴役時賜給我們一點生機。

耶和華要將以色列人交給他們的敵人，直到那臨盆的婦人生下兒子。那時，祂流亡的弟兄將重返他們的以色列同胞那裡。祂要挺身而起，倚靠耶和華的能力，奉祂上帝耶和華的威名牧養祂的群羊。他們將安然居住，因為那時祂必受尊崇，直達地極。祂必給他們帶來平安！亞述人侵略我們的國土、踐踏我們的宮殿時，我們將選立七位牧者和八位首領抗擊他們。他們要用刀劍統治亞述，統治寧錄地區。亞述人侵入我們國境、踐踏我們疆土時，祂必拯救我們。雅各餘剩的子孫將在萬民中像從耶和華那裡降下的雨露，又像灑在草上的甘霖。他們不依靠人，不冀望於世人。在各國各民中，雅各餘剩的子孫猶如林間百獸中的獅子，又像闖入羊群的猛獅，將獵物撲倒撕碎，無人能搭救。
