Concerning the Gentiles, God says in the prophecy of Hosea,“ Those who were not my people, I will now call my people. And I will love those whom I did not love before.”

如何西阿書載主之言云、非我民者、我將稱為我民、非蒙愛者、我將稱之蒙愛、

天主於阿塞亞書中亦云：『本非我子民、我將子民之。未蒙寵愛者、我將寵愛之。』

As he says in Hosea:“ I will call them‘ my people’ who are not my people; and I will call her‘ my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”

God says in Hosea,“ I will call those who are not my people‘ my people.’ I will call the one who is not my loved one‘ my loved one.’ ”( Hosea 2:23)

As indeed he says in Hosea,“ Those who were not my people I will call‘ my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call‘ beloved.’”

As it also says in Hosea, I will call Not My People, My People, and she who is Unloved, Beloved.

At that time I will plant a crop of Israelites and raise them for myself. I will show love to those I called‘ Not loved.’ And to those I called‘ Not my people,’ I will say,‘ Now you are my people.’ And they will reply,‘ You are our God!’”

“ Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”

The Lord gave this message to Hosea son of Beeri during the years when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah, and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was king of Israel.When the Lord first began speaking to Israel through Hosea, he said to him,“ Go and marry a prostitute, so that some of her children will be conceived in prostitution. This will illustrate how Israel has acted like a prostitute by turning against the Lord and worshiping other gods.”

I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

And when I passed by again, I saw that you were old enough for love. So I wrapped my cloak around you to cover your nakedness and declared my marriage vows. I made a covenant with you, says the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.

for the Father himself loves you dearly because you love me and believe that I came from God.
