上帝欲彰厥威、示其能、每恆忍包容諸可怒可毀之器、

倘若神要显明他的忿怒，彰显他的权能，就多多忍耐宽容那可怒、预备遭毁灭的器皿，

倘若上帝要显明他的愤怒，彰显他的权能，难道不可多多忍耐宽容那应受愤怒、预备遭毁灭的器皿吗？

倘若上帝要显示祂的烈怒和权能，就尽量容忍那些祂预备要毁灭的器皿，

如果神有意要显明他的忿怒，彰显他的大能，而多多容忍那可怒、预备遭毁灭的器皿，

但如果神想要显出他的震怒，显明他的能力，就以极大的耐心容忍那些承受震怒的器皿，就是他早已预备要归于灭亡的器皿，那又怎么样呢？

倘若上帝雖有意要證顯他的義怒，播知他的能力，卻用大恆忍寬容那應受義怒的、準備進入滅亡的、器皿，

但如果神想要顯出他的震怒，顯明他的能力，就以極大的耐心容忍那些承受震怒的器皿，就是他早已預備要歸於滅亡的器皿，那又怎麼樣呢？

若上帝欲彰其怒、示其能、以恆忍包容可怒之器、備以毀敗者、

倘若天主、雖欲彰其怒、並示其能、仍恆忍寛容可怒當滅之器、

若天主欲宣其威而彰其德、對於可惡可毀之器、已予百般容忍、

What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath— prepared for destruction?

What if God chose to show his great anger? What if he chose to make his power known? But he put up with the people he was angry with. They were made to be destroyed.

What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,

In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction.

耶和華所為、悉隨其旨、惡者屆期、刑譴必加。

蓋有不虔之人私入會、彼以吾上帝之恩、反為邪慝之由、拒一主上帝、即吾主耶穌基督、自昔已預定其受刑、

泥豈非權在陶人、同一撮土而造之、或為器之貴、或為器之賤乎、

廣廈之中、其器不第金銀、亦有木瓦、或為器之貴、或為器之賤、

然我使爾崛興、以顯我能、我名播揚於天下。

我欲訓異邦人使得救、彼阻尼之、如是厥罪貫盈、終必罹罰、

經諭法老云、我使爾崛興、以顯我能、我名播揚於天下、

我弗譴爾、遂謂我與人無異、我必責爾、彰爾罪戾兮、爾曹忘我、當思余言、恐我毀爾、援手無人兮。

彼取人財、以巧言鬻爾、上帝預定、不久必鞫之、使彼速沉淪、

孰知爾怒震烈、而敬乎其所當敬兮、

如是、爾自證為殺先知者之裔、何不盈爾祖之量乎、噫、蛇蝮之類、安能逭地獄刑乎、

惡不即罰、人專為惡。作惡之人、屢蹈罪愆、反享遐齡、然吾知寅畏上帝者、終必受厥綏祉、

抑藐視其鴻慈、寛容、恆忍、不知上帝之仁愛、導爾悔改乎、乃爾剛愎、罔有悛心、積愆干怒、待上帝震怒、義鞫顯日、

耶和華恆忍、施恩之上帝、人蹈罪愆、可蒙赦宥、恆於惡者不蒙赦宥、禍及其身、自父及子、至三四世。

耶和華諭摩西曰、我顯異跡於斯民中、彼不篤信我、且欺侮我、伊於何底。

越至四世、爾之苗裔、將歸斯土、蓋亞摩哩人罪未貫盈。

蓋上帝簡我、不獲譴怒、賴吾主耶穌基督得救、

惟主救敬虔之人、免於患難、而留不義者、待鞫日受刑、

籲呼山巖壓己、不令坐位之主見之、及為羔所怒、蓋羔大怒之日至矣、孰能當之、

且上帝之怒、由天而顯、以警不虔不義、行惡阻真理之人、

羔啟五緘、我觀祭壇下、緣證上帝道、見殺者之魂、大聲呼曰、聖誠之主歟、不問天下億兆、伸我流血之冤、將俟何時乎、主以白衣授眾、語之曰、當少安、待同事兄弟、亦見殺戮、其數乃盈、

時、基督以神傳道、眾不信從、上帝姑待之、今囚於獄矣、

良朋當思之、主觀一日猶千年、千年猶一日、主既言矣、必不遲行、人視主為濡滯、主實寛我、欲人悔改、不欲人沉淪、

耶和華仁慈是尚、不廢矜憫、故予不亡兮、

主由是觀之、主寛容我、我儕得救、我良朋保羅、賴所賦之智、以書達汝、
