窰匠對泥土難道沒有權柄從同一團泥作器皿，有的作成貴重的，有的作成下賤的麼？

窑匠难道没有权柄从一团泥里拿一块做成贵重的器皿，又拿一块做成卑贱的器皿吗？

难道陶匠没有权从一团泥里拿一块做成贵重的器皿，又拿一块做成卑贱的器皿吗？

难道陶匠没有权从一团泥里拿一块做成贵重的器皿，又拿一块做成卑贱的器皿吗？

陶匠难道不可以从一团泥中拿一部分造贵重的器皿，又拿一部分造平凡的器皿吗？

陶匠难道没有权用同一团的泥，又做贵重的、又做卑贱的器皿吗？

难道陶匠没有权柄从同一团泥中，既造出贵重的器皿，又造出卑贱的器皿吗？

窰匠難道沒有權柄從一團泥裏拿一塊做成貴重的器皿，又拿一塊做成卑賤的器皿嗎？

難道陶匠沒有權從一團泥裏拿一塊做成貴重的器皿，又拿一塊做成卑賤的器皿嗎？

難道陶匠沒有權從一團泥裏拿一塊做成貴重的器皿，又拿一塊做成卑賤的器皿嗎？

陶匠難道不可以從一團泥中拿一部分造貴重的器皿，又拿一部分造平凡的器皿嗎？

陶匠難道沒有權用同一團的泥，又做貴重的、又做卑賤的器皿嗎？

難道陶匠沒有權柄從同一團泥中，既造出貴重的器皿，又造出卑賤的器皿嗎？

陶人豈無權於泥、由一團而造器、一為尊、一為卑乎、

泥豈非權在陶人、同一撮土而造之、或為器之貴、或為器之賤乎、

陶人豈無權於泥、由一團泥造一貴用之器、一賤用之器乎、

抑陶人於泥無自由處置之權、而不能於同一撮土中、製成貴賤不同之器耶？

Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

Isn’t the potter free to make different kinds of pots out of the same lump of clay? Some are for special purposes. Others are for ordinary use.

Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?

When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn’t he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into?

Or has the potter no right over the clay, to make from the same lump one piece of pottery for honor and another for dishonor?

Or does the potter not have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one object for honorable use, and another for common use?

Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

Or hath not the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?

Or has the potter no right over the clay, to make from the same lump one piece of pottery for honor and another for dishonor?

Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Has the potter no right to make from the same lump of clay one vessel for special use and another for ordinary use?

Or hasn’t the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor?

如今呢、永恆主啊，你、仍是我們的父；我們是摶泥，你、乃是窰匠；我們都是你手所塑造的作品。

在大戶人家、不但有金器銀器，也有木器瓦器；有的做貴重的用處，有的做下賤的用處。人若潔淨自己脫離惡事、就必成個器皿、做貴重的用處，分別為聖，合乎主宰之用，時常準備着行各樣善事。

主卻對亞拿尼亞說：『你只管去，因為這個人是屬於我揀選的器皿，要在外國人和君王、跟以色列人面前擔負我名的。

永恆主所造的各適其用；連惡人、也是為了禍患日子而有的。

在雙子還沒生下來、好壞還沒作出來時（為要使上帝按揀選的定旨得以堅立，不是由於人的行為，乃是由於上帝的呼召），

我便下窰匠的工廠去；見他正在那裏用輪盤旋轉而作工呢。窰匠用泥作的器皿若在他手中壞了，他就再用這泥作別的器皿，照窰匠所看為對的去作。於是永恆主的話傳與我說：『以色列家啊，難道我不能待你們、像這窰匠所作的麼？看哪，泥在窰匠手中怎麼樣，以色列家啊，你們在我手中也必怎樣。

倘若上帝雖有意要證顯他的義怒，播知他的能力，卻用大恆忍寬容那應受義怒的、準備進入滅亡的、器皿，為要播知他榮耀之豐富是賜給那蒙憐憫的、那早豫備好了、可進入「榮耀」的、器皿，就怎麼樣呢？他所寬容的

這便是他不但願意憐恤誰，就憐恤誰、而且願意叫誰剛愎、就叫誰剛愎了。

哥尼雅這個人是被鄙視、被摔碎的陶瓦小像、無人喜悅的器皿麼？為甚麼他被拋擲，他和他的後裔都被丟到素不認識之地呢？

以色列被吞喫；如今已在列國中好像無人喜悅的器皿。
