For Scripture says to Pharaoh:“ I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”

In Scripture, God says to Pharaoh,“ I had a special reason for making you king. I decided to use you to show my power. I wanted my name to become known everywhere on earth.”( Exodus 9:16)

耶和華所為、悉隨其旨、惡者屆期、刑譴必加。

我曾以爾名、示而又示之、使爾愛我之愛及乎彼、我亦在彼焉、

謂其人曰、耶和華曾以此地錫爾、我所素知、斯土之人懼爾、甚至喪膽、爾出埃及時、耶和華使紅海水涸、約但東亞摩哩王西宏及噩、為爾殲滅、我所風聞。

如其不然、則喪厥志、令其敗亡、悚然駭懼、靡有底止兮、惟如是凡厥庶民、咸知爾耶和華至高無二、治理寰宇兮。

使人窮乏、使人富裕、使人卑微、使人高顯、此非耶和華所主乎。舉貧賤者於塵埃、升匱乏者於糞壤、使坐於民牧間、致得榮位、蓋大地之基屬耶和華、使宇宙立於其上。

異邦族類、必聞而畏、非利士民必悚然懼、以東諸伯必觳觫、摩押英豪必戰慄、迦南居民必喪膽。

耶和華諭摩西曰、爾當覲法老、法老與群臣、剛愎厥心、我姑聽之、以顯我異跡於其間、俾爾以我所行於埃及之異跡、告爾子孫、則知我誠耶和華。○

昔在曠野、降災於埃及、即此有能之上帝、孰克拯我於其手乎。

今禱我上帝耶和華、救我脫於其手、使天下列國、咸知耶和華獨為上帝。

曰、耶和華既拯爾、暨爾同族、脫於法老與埃及人手、當頌美焉。夫埃及人妄自誇大、而耶和華超軼其上、我故知耶和華較諸上帝為尤大。

對曰、僕所自來、其地甚遠、我儕聞爾上帝耶和華之名、知其所行於埃及、

埃及人必剛愎厥心以襲、我姑聽之。我必勝法老、爰及軍旅車馬、以獲大榮。我行是、則埃及人知我乃耶和華。○

耶和華告受膏古列曰、我左右爾、使列國賓服、使諸王荏弱、大啟邑門、不能閉拒。我備爾道、使曲為直、毀敵銅門、斷敵鐵楗、貨財藏於密室、我以之錫爾、俾爾知命爾名者、乃我耶和華以色列族之上帝。

今爾居尊位、意者將使爾保全我族、未可知也、如爾竟無一言、必有他人援手、恐爾與全家、卒見剿滅耳。

上帝知將以義稱異邦人之信者、故預傳福音與亞伯拉罕云、兆民將藉爾受福、如經所載、

然經所云何、不曰、出婢及婢之子、婢之子不得與婦之子嗣業乎、

默示何也、曰、我遺七千人、未嘗曲跽巴力、

王請聽余、至上上帝、以國威尊榮、賜爾祖尼布甲尼撒、因其威儀、億兆族姓、戰慄於前、生殺昇降、皆出王衷、既驕奢其心、剛愎其志、乃黜王位、去其尊榮、心若豺狼、為人驅逐、不與人居、而與野驢錯處、齧蒭若牛、沾濡於露、待知至上之上帝、操世之權、以國畀人、悉隨其意、

我今以列邦予我僕、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、亦使野獸供役、列國之人必服事之、爰及子孫、屆滅國之期而後已、厥後邦國眾多、列王顯赫、必使巴比倫王供其服役。

但經明言萬人有罪、惟信耶穌基督、可得所許之福、

我震怒斯民、使亞述人、為杖箠以擊之、亞述人亦有禍矣、我民偽善、我必震怒、使亞述人擊之、攘奪其貨、蹂躪其身、若逵衢之糞壤。
