For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.

蓋形軀之志、敵乎上帝、以其不服上帝律、且不能服也、

體欲之情者、不服上帝法、故逆上帝、蓋服法而不能焉、

體肉體、乃與天主為仇、因不服天主之法、且不能服也、

無他、蓋順於欲者、則逆於天主；如此自不甘服天主之法、且亦不能。

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.

The mind ruled by the power of sin is at war with God. It does not obey God’s law. It can’t.

For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.

They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,

treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots? Then also you can do good who are accustomed to do evil.

The Fool says in his heart,“ There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.

in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Whoever hates me hates my Father also.If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

To those outside the law I became as one outside the law( not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law.

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
