For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

蓋律因形軀而弱、致有所不能為、上帝為罪故遣其子、身具罪狀、於形軀而定罪、

蓋律法以我情欲、故無力脫我於惡、惟上帝遣己子、身等罪人、以贖人罪、滅吾身之罪、

律法因肉體無力、不能滅罪、惟天主為罪遣其子降生肉體、狀如罪人之身、而滅身之罪矣、

夫舊法之所以軟弱而無能者、實肉身之情慾、為之梗也。今天主竟使其聖子成人、且具罪人之形體、為罪捨身、於是吾人肉身中之罪、乃被處決、而不復能乘權矣。

For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

The written law was made weak by the power of sin. But God did what the written law could not do. He made his Son to be like those who live under the power of sin. God sent him to be an offering for sin. Jesus suffered God’s judgment against our sin.

For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

and by him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

For there is a disannulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness( for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in thereupon of a better hope, through which we draw nigh unto God.

Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,that he might redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin;

For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect them that draw nigh.Else would they not have ceased to be offered? because the worshippers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins.But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance made of sins year by year.For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me;In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure:Then said I, Lo, I am come( In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God.Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein( the which are offered according to the law),then hath he said, Lo, I am come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could make alive, verily righteousness would have been of the law.

who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.

because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.

Forasmuch then as Christ suffered in the flesh, arm ye yourselves also with the same mind; for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;

Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same; that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that wherein we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Howbeit, I had not known sin, except through the law: for I had not known coveting, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet:but sin, finding occasion, wrought in me through the commandment all manner of coveting: for apart from the law sin is dead.And I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died;and the commandment, which was unto life, this I found to be unto death:for sin, finding occasion, through the commandment beguiled me, and through it slew me.

Wherefore it behooved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.No man hath beheld God at any time: if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us:hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father hath sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us( and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up;that whosoever believeth may in him have eternal life.For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him.

And with him they crucify two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?

So they called a second time the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give glory to God: we know that this man is a sinner.

For I could wish that I myself were anathema from Christ for my brethren’s sake, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
