其所知者、則預定效其子、使彼為眾子中冢子、

天主所預知者、則預定肖其子之狀、使彼為眾子中之長子、

如此之人、亦即天主依其聖意而見召者也。蓋天主所預寵者、乃預簡之、俾克肖其聖子、欲使其聖子成為眾子中之冢息耳。

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

God planned that those he had chosen would become like his Son. In that way, Christ will be the first and most honored among many brothers and sisters.

even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love,having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,

“ Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will,

who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,

who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in this last age for your sake,

All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed.

However God’s firm foundation stands, having this seal,“ The Lord knows those who are his,” and,“ Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.”

according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory,

As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let’s also bear the image of the heavenly.

and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory,

Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.For by him all things were created in the heavens and on the earth, visible things and invisible things, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things have been created through him and for him.He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.

God didn’t reject his people, which he foreknew. Or don’t you know what the Scripture says about Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel:

But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.

The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one;I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me and loved them, even as you loved me.

who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.

They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.

and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

Yahweh said to Moses,“ I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”

Moses said to Yahweh,“ Behold, you tell me,‘ Bring up this people;’ and you haven’t let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said,‘ I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’

For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

For to which of the angels did he say at any time,“ You are my Son. Today I have become your father?” and again,“ I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?”When he again brings in the firstborn into the world he says,“ Let all the angels of God worship him.”

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood—and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his God and Father— to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.

I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.

Jesus said to her,“ Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them,‘ I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,saying,“ I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the congregation I will sing your praise.”Again,“ I will put my trust in him.” Again,“ Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.”Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Then I will tell them,‘ I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’

I will also appoint him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

“ The King will answer them,‘ Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
