夫我儕以望而得救、然既見之望、非望也、蓋既見之、孰猶望之乎、

我们得救是在乎盼望；只是所见的盼望不是盼望，谁还盼望他所见的呢

我儕得救在望、既得所望、則不復望、以既得之、豈猶有望乎、

蓋吾人之得救也、實有恃乎望德；然已見之望、非望也；夫人於目前之事、亦何所用其望乎？

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?

That’s the hope we had when we were saved. But hope that can be seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?

We were given this hope when we were saved.( If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.

Now in this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees?

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

夫信為所望者之基、未見者之據、

蓋我由信而行、非憑目睹、

但我儕既屬晝、則宜節制、以信與愛為胸鏡、以得救之望為兜鍪、

祝頌我主耶穌基督之父上帝、依其鴻慈、由耶穌基督自死復起、重生我儕、致獲維生之望、

以我非顧所見之事、乃不見之事、蓋所見者暫、不見者久也、

上帝自死起之、予之榮、致爾信爾望皆在上帝、

既有二不易之事、上帝固不能誑我儕、既已逃避、持守所置吾前之望、大得慰藉、我有此望、如魂有錨、入於幔內、鞏固不移、

以雅各之上帝為助、以其上帝耶和華為望、斯人其有福兮、

亦由之以信而進於今所止之恩、且以望上帝之榮為樂、

有望之俘囚歟、宜歸保障、我今宣告、必償爾維倍、

喜於望、忍於難、恆於禱、

敬畏耶和華、企望其慈惠者、彼垂顧之兮、

惟在爾恆於信、植基而固之、不移乎爾所聞福音之望、即宣於天下萬人、我保羅為其役者也、○

願施望之上帝、因信以樂與安充於爾曹、俾爾賴聖神之能、獲豐溢之望、○

願我主耶穌基督與我父上帝、即愛我而以恩賜我永慰善望者、

上帝樂以此奧秘之榮之富、示之異邦、即基督在爾衷、為有榮之望焉、

蓋上帝濟救萬人之恩已顯、教我儕棄絕不虔、與世俗之慾、而以貞正、公義、敬虔、度生於今世、仰慕有福之望、及皇矣上帝我救者基督耶穌之榮顯著、

耶和華歟、願施慈惠、以副我望兮、

蓋我儕以神由信、而待所望之義、

今所存者三、信也、望也、愛也、其中惟愛為大、

斯救也、諸先知預言將臨於爾之恩者、且探索而研究之、乃考基督之神在其衷者、預證基督受苦、而後得榮、所指何時、何如時、

因爾有望存之於天、即爾昔聞於福音之真道、

昔所載者皆以訓我而書、俾我因忍與聖經之慰而得望、

倚賴耶和華、惟耶和華是恃者、其人有福、

惡人遇難而見仆、義者臨死而有託、
