For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

Everything God created looks forward to the future. That will be the time when his children appear in their full and final glory.

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.

For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.

“ They will be Mine,” says the Lord of Hosts,“ a special possession on the day I am preparing. I will have compassion on them as a man has compassion on his son who serves him.So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.

Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godlinessas you wait for and earnestly desire the coming of the day of God. The heavens will be on fire and be dissolved because of it, and the elements will melt with the heat.But based on His promise, we wait for the new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell.

And not only that, but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits— we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea no longer existed.I also saw the Holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.Then I heard a loud voice from the throne: Look! God’s dwelling is with humanity, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away.Then the One seated on the throne said,“ Look! I am making everything new.” He also said,“ Write, because these words are faithful and true.”

Heaven must welcome Him until the times of the restoration of all things, which God spoke about by the mouth of His holy prophets from the beginning.

“ When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on the left.Then the King will say to those on His right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you took care of Me; I was in prison and you visited Me.’“ Then the righteous will answer Him,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink?When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You?When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?’“ And the King will answer them,‘ I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’Then He will also say to those on the left,‘ Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels!For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink;I was a stranger and you didn’t take Me in; I was naked and you didn’t clothe Me, sick and in prison and you didn’t take care of Me.’“ Then they too will answer,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or sick, or in prison, and not help You?’“ Then He will answer them,‘ I assure you: Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me either.’“ And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
