For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out,“ Abba! Father!”

蓋爾所受者、非畏首畏尾之奴隸情緒；爾所受者、乃為呼爺喚父之兒女精神也。

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry,“ Abba, Father.”

The Spirit you received doesn’t make you slaves. Otherwise you would live in fear again. Instead, the Holy Spirit you received made you God’s adopted child. By the Spirit’s power we call God Abba. Abba means Father.

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry,“ Abba! Father!”

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him,“ Abba, Father.”

so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters.Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out,“ Abba! Father!”Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God.

He predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

and free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial, And a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name which will not be eliminated.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

“ Then I said,‘ How I would set you among My sons And give you a pleasant land, The most beautiful inheritance of the nations!’ And I said,‘ You shall call Me, My Father, And not turn away from following Me.’

And He was saying,“ Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.”

In Him we also have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things in accordance with the plan of His will,to the end that we who were the first to hope in the Christ would be to the praise of His glory.In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation— having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise,who is a first installment of our inheritance, in regard to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

And He said to them,“ When you pray, say:‘ Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.

For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind,and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words, which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them.For they could not cope with the command,“ If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.”And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said,“ I am terrified and trembling.”But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

Jesus* said to her,“ Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brothers and say to them,‘ I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’ ”

saying,“ Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

Then they said to Moses,“ Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but do not have God speak to us, or we will die!”

And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment:

And not only that, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons and daughters, the redemption of our body.

And seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell down before Him, and said with a loud voice,“ What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

Then the sons of Israel spoke to Moses, saying,“ Behold, we are passing away, we are perishing, we are all perishing!

You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.

Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ Brothers, what are we to do?”

And all the people of the territory of the Gerasenes and the surrounding region asked Him to leave them, because they were overwhelmed by great fear; and He got into a boat and returned.

And the jailer asked for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear, he fell down before Paul and Silas;
