For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out,“ Abba, Father!”

蓋爾曹非受為奴之神、復致畏懼、乃受為子之神、因而呼曰阿爸父也、

今而後、爾非奴之操心危、所操者乃子之心、籲曰、阿爸父也、

爾曹所受之神、非使爾自視為奴、致仍畏懼、爾曹所受之神、乃使爾自視為子、我儕由之而呼阿巴、父也、

蓋爾所受者、非畏首畏尾之奴隸情緒；爾所受者、乃為呼爺喚父之兒女精神也。

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry,“ Abba, Father.”

The Spirit you received doesn’t make you slaves. Otherwise you would live in fear again. Instead, the Holy Spirit you received made you God’s adopted child. By the Spirit’s power we call God Abba. Abba means Father.

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry,“ Abba! Father!”

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him,“ Abba, Father.”

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out,“ Abba! Father!”

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out,“ Abba, Father.”

For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying,“ Abba, Father!”So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then God has made you an heir.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.

He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.

The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children,

I will give them, in my house and within my walls, a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters. I will give each of them an everlasting name that will never be cut off.

There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love.

I thought,“ How I long to make you my sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of all the nations.” I thought,“ You will call me‘ My Father’ and never turn away from me.”

And he said,“ Abba, Father! All things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what you will.”

In him we have also received an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will,so that we who had already put our hope in Christ might bring praise to his glory.In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

He said to them,“ Whenever you pray, say, Father, your name be honored as holy. Your kingdom come.

For you have not come to what could be touched, to a blazing fire, to darkness, gloom, and storm,to the blast of a trumpet, and the sound of words. Those who heard it begged that not another word be spoken to them,for they could not bear what was commanded: If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.The appearance was so terrifying that Moses said, I am trembling with fear.Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God( the heavenly Jerusalem), to myriads of angels, a festive gathering,to the assembly of the firstborn whose names have been written in heaven, to a Judge, who is God of all, to the spirits of righteous people made perfect,and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which says better things than the blood of Abel.

“ Don’t cling to me,” Jesus told her,“ since I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them that I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”

“ Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me— nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

“ You speak to us, and we will listen,” they said to Moses,“ but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.”

When he comes, he will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment:

Not only that, but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits— we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before him, and said in a loud voice,“ What do you have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”

Then the Israelites declared to Moses,“ Look, we’re perishing! We’re lost; we’re all lost!

You believe that God is one. Good! Even the demons believe— and they shudder.

When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ Brothers, what should we do?”

Then all the people of the Gerasene region asked him to leave them, because they were gripped by great fear. So getting into the boat, he returned.

The jailer called for lights, rushed in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.
