For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

從欲者死、惟藉聖神以滅吾身情欲、則生、

爾曹若從肉體而行、必死、若以聖神而滅身之邪行、必生、

爾如從欲、取死之道也。存神去欲、得生之道也。

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

If you live under the power of sin, you will die. But by the Spirit’s power you can put to death the sins you commit. Then you will live.

For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.

Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,

teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
