因為你們若順着肉體而活，就必死；若順着靈治死你們身體上的行為，就必活。

你们若顺从肉体活着，必要死；若靠着圣灵治死身体的恶行，必要活着。

你们若顺从肉体活着，必定会死；若靠着圣灵把身体的恶行处死，就必存活。

爾如從欲、取死之道也。存神去欲、得生之道也。

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

If you live under the power of sin, you will die. But by the Spirit’s power you can put to death the sins you commit. Then you will live.

For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.

為肉體撒種的、必從肉體收成敗壞；為靈撒種的、必從靈收成永生。

親愛的，我勸你們做僑民做寄居的、要禁戒那對你們的靈魂交戰的肉體私慾；

所以你們要看這在地上的肢體為死了的：就如淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾、和貪婪、（就是一種的拜偶像）。為此種種，上帝的義怒正臨到呢；從前你們在此種種之中生活的時候、你們也曾在其中行過。但如今呢、你們也要把一切都脫去了：脫去忿怒、暴怒、惡毒；從你們口中脫去毁謗和可恥的話。

我乃是痛打我的身體，驅使它做奴僕，恐怕我宣傳給別人，自己反成了不中用的！

屬基督耶穌的人是已經把肉體、同各樣的惡情和私慾、都釘上十字架了。

你們既因聽從真理而使心裏清潔，以致有親如弟兄之相愛而不假裝，就該從心裏彼此熱切地相愛。

正教督我們棄絕不虔的心和屬世的私慾，在現今世按克己正義和敬虔而生活，

使律法上所要求的義行、在我們這不順着肉體、而順着靈行的人身上得到完成。因為順着肉體行的、意念着肉體的事；順着靈行的、意念着靈的事。肉體的意念是死；靈的意念乃是生命與平安。

你們乃是要脫去那依故態而起居的舊人、順着誘惑人之私慾而漸漸敗壞的舊人，

因為我們從前在肉體裏的時候，那因律法而生的罪之惡情、運用着動力於我們的肢體中，以致給死結果子。

各人被試誘，都是被自己的私慾所勾引所餌誘；然後私慾受了孕，才產生罪；罪既長成，就產出死來。

肉體之行為是顯而易見的，就是：淫亂、污穢、邪蕩、拜偶像、行邪術、敵恨、紛爭、妒忌、暴怒、營私爭勝、分立、派別、嫉妒、醉酒、荒宴、以及和這一些相類似的事。這些事我現在給你們說明了，正如我說明過的：行這樣事的人必不能承受上帝的國。

既然如此，如今那些在基督耶穌裏的就不被定罪了。因為生命之靈之律在基督耶穌裏使我得自由、脫離了罪之律、即死之律。

因為罪的工價即是死，然而上帝的恩賜乃是永生、於我們的主基督耶穌裏。

別醉酒了（醉中有放蕩），卻要充充滿滿地滿有聖靈。

別叫上帝的聖靈擔憂了；你們是受他的印記作質定、以待得贖放之日子的。

那麼、你們當時得了甚麼果子呢？無非是你們如今所看為羞恥的事罷了：那些事的結局就是死。

至於淫亂和一切污穢或貪婪，在你們中間連提都不可提，才合乎聖徒的身分。卑鄙的事和愚妄的話、或粗俗的戲笑、都不相宜；相宜的就是感謝的話。因為你們確實地知道：凡是嫖妓或作男倡、或污穢的、或貪婪（就是一種的拜偶像）的、都得不着基業在基督國裏、上帝國裏。
