爾如從欲、取死之道也。存神去欲、得生之道也。

你们若顺从肉体活着，必要死；若靠着圣灵治死身体的恶行，必要活着。

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

If you live under the power of sin, you will die. But by the Spirit’s power you can put to death the sins you commit. Then you will live.

凡播種於慾田者、必於慾田穫朽腐之果；而播種於靈田者、則於靈田穫常生之果。

親愛之同道乎、人生在世、猶如作客他鄉、務望自愛、切弗縱情恣慾、以戕賊心靈。

故應將一切卑污之心事、置諸死地，凡淫亂、卑污、邪情、惡慾、貪孌、莫非崇拜偶像之變相、而天主所以譴怒其悖逆之子者、正為此等事耳。爾等舊日生活、亦嘗沉溺於此；今望爾等毅然棄絕、亦望蕩滌憤怒嫉恨、舉凡謗誹之言、污穢之語、

予且痛鞭吾身、使之馴伏、蓋恐傳道於人而己遭擯棄也。

凡屬於基督者皆已將其肉體及一切情慾同釘於十字架。

今者爾之靈魂、已因服膺聖道而致潔矣；應能身體誠實無妄之愛德也。務望一秉赤誠、彼此相愛。

吾人既受其教、自應痛絕邪妄之人欲。立身處世、寧靜淡泊、孳孳為善、

所望吾人不復從欲而從神、庶幾律法之正義、得以成全於吾人之身。蓋從欲者、體欲之情；而從神者、體神之情。體欲之情者死、而體神之情者生以安。

棄絕故我、不復沉湎聲色、日趨朽壞。

當吾人尚在肉身之權下、吾人之四肢百體、在在受罪惡之牽引。此罪惡者、生於情慾、滋於律法、終則致死亡之果者也。

人之見誘、皆受其自身情欲之煽惑勾引；情慾孕而罪孽生、罪孽長成、死亡隨之。

夫情慾之事、亦顯而易見也；凡姦非污濁、淫蕩奢侈、拜偶像、行巫術、仇恨爭競、好勝忿怒朋比釁隙、迷惑異端、嫉妒殘殺、沉醉荒宴等類皆是。吾夙已言之、今復鄭重相告、凡行此等事者、必不得承受天主之國也。

凡心與耶穌基督相契合者、無所為罪；蓋聖神惟生之法、已因基督而脫吾人於罪與死之法矣。

蓋罪孽之果報為死、而天主之恩賜、則因耶穌基督而獲永生是已。

勿酗酒而蕩檢、當醉心於聖神；

毋拂逆天主之聖神、以貽其憂。聖神者、固爾等終蒙恩贖之印證也。

試一思之、爾昔日所行、今日所恥之種切、於爾究有何益？死亡為其必然之結果！

至於奸非浮穢貪婪之事、非聖徒所可道也。一切穢褻浪謔輕薄之詞、皆宜痛絕；惟宜謳歌主德、稱謝洪恩。幸毋自誤、應知凡奸非淫穢貪婪、莫非崇拜偶像之變相。犯此者必不得承嗣基督及天主之國也。
