because if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

爾如從欲、取死之道也。存神去欲、得生之道也。

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

If you live under the power of sin, you will die. But by the Spirit’s power you can put to death the sins you commit. Then you will live.

For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.

for if you are living in accord with the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles to abstain from sinful desires that wage war against the soul.

Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.Because of these, God’s wrath is coming upon the disobedient,and you once walked in these things when you were living in them.But now, put away all the following: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth.

Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Since you have purified yourselves by your obedience to the truth, so that you show sincere brotherly love for each other, from a pure heart love one another constantly,

instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age,

in order that the law’s requirement would be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.For those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their minds set on the things of the Spirit.Now the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace.

to take off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires,

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions aroused through the law were working in us to bear fruit for death.

But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desire.Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death.

Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity,idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I am warning you about these things— as I warned you before— that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus,because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit:

And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by him for the day of redemption.

So what fruit was produced then from the things you are now ashamed of? The outcome of those things is death.

But sexual immorality and any impurity or greed should not even be heard of among you, as is proper for saints.Obscene and foolish talking or crude joking are not suitable, but rather giving thanks.For know and recognize this: Every sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, does not have an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
