你們若隨從罪惡本性活著，必定死亡；但若靠著聖靈除去身體的惡行，就必活著。

你们若顺从肉体活着，必要死；若靠着圣灵治死身体的恶行，必要活着。

你们若顺从肉体活着，必定会死；若靠着圣灵把身体的恶行处死，就必存活。

爾如從欲、取死之道也。存神去欲、得生之道也。

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

If you live under the power of sin, you will die. But by the Spirit’s power you can put to death the sins you commit. Then you will live.

For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.

順從罪惡的本性撒種的，必從罪惡的本性收取敗壞的惡果；順從聖靈撒種的，必從聖靈收取永生。

親愛的弟兄姊妹，你們是客旅，是寄居的，我勸你們要禁戒與靈魂為敵的邪情私慾。

所以，你們要治死身上屬世的罪惡，如淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像，因為上帝的烈怒必臨到做這些事的悖逆之人。你們過去也和他們一樣過著罪惡的生活，但現在必須杜絕這一切的惡事，如怒氣、憤恨、惡毒、毀謗和污言穢語。

我嚴格訓練自己，克服自身的軟弱，免得我傳福音給別人，自己卻被淘汰了。

那些屬基督的人已經把罪惡的本性和本性裡的邪情私慾都釘在十字架上了。

你們既因順服真理，潔淨了自己的心，能夠真誠地愛弟兄姊妹，就當以清潔的心彼此切實相愛。

這恩典教導我們除掉不敬虔的心和世俗的私慾，在今世過自律、公義、敬畏上帝的生活，

使律法公義的要求實現在我們這些不隨從罪惡本性，只隨從聖靈而活的人身上。隨從罪惡本性的人顧念罪惡本性的事，但隨從聖靈的人顧念聖靈的事。顧念罪惡本性的人結局是死亡，但顧念聖靈的人卻有生命和平安。

就應該與從前的生活方式一刀兩斷，脫去因私慾的迷惑而漸漸敗壞的舊人，

從前我們受自己罪惡本性的控制，因律法而激發的罪惡慾望在我們身上發作，以致結出死亡的果子。

其實每個受到誘惑的人都是受自己的私慾慫恿和誘惑。私慾懷了胎，便生出罪，罪一旦長成，便帶來死亡。

順從罪惡本性而行的事顯而易見，如淫亂、污穢、邪蕩、拜偶像、行邪術、仇恨、爭吵、忌恨、惱怒、紛爭、衝突、分裂、嫉妒、兇殺、醉酒和荒宴無度等。我從前警告過你們，現在再一次警告你們：行這些事的人必不能承受上帝的國。

因此，如今那些在基督耶穌裡的人不被定罪，因為賜人生命之聖靈的律已經在基督耶穌裡使我獲得自由，脫離了罪與死的律。

因為罪的代價就是死亡，而上帝藉著主基督耶穌賜下的禮物則是永生。

不要醉酒，醉酒會使人放蕩，要被聖靈充滿。

不要讓上帝的聖靈擔憂，你們已經蓋上了聖靈的印記，將來必蒙救贖。

做了現在想起來也覺得羞恥的事，得到了什麼益處呢？那些事只能導致死亡！

一切淫亂、污穢或貪婪的事在你們當中連提都不要提，才合乎聖徒的身分。污言穢語、愚昧粗俗的談笑都不合宜，總要說感恩的話才好。因為你們清楚知道，淫亂的人、污穢的人，還有貪婪的人，就是拜偶像的人，在基督和上帝的國裡沒有立足之地。
