Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation— but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.

弟兄姊妹，這樣看來，我們不必隨從罪惡本性活著。

弟兄們，可見我們並不是欠肉體的債，隨著肉體而活。

弟兄們，那麼我們便是欠債的了，卻不是欠肉體的債、去順着肉體活的。

弟兄們，由此可見，我們都是有責任的，但不是對肉體有責任去順著肉體而活；

兄弟乎、我儕非負債於形軀、致依形軀而生、

兄弟乎、我儕非為欲所役者、豈甘從欲、

如是、兄弟乎、我儕非負肉體之債、致我從肉體而行、

故兄弟應知吾人既不為肉身之役、自無順從情慾之責。

Brothers and sisters, we have a duty. Our duty is not to live under the power of sin.

So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.

So then, brothers and sisters, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh,

So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh—

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors— not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:

So then, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh,

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh

By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!

As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do— living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Truly I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains.
