For I do not do the good I want, but I do the very evil I do not want!

故此，我所愿意的善，我反不做；我所不愿意的恶，我倒去做。

我所愿意的善，我不去做；我所不愿意的恶，我反而去做。

我所愿意的善，我不去做；我所不愿意的恶，我反而去做。

我想行善，却不能行；我不想作恶，反倒去作。

所以我愿意行的善，我没有去行；我不愿意作的恶，我倒去作了。

这样，我愿意行的善，我没有去行；我不愿意做的恶，我反而去做。

故此，我所願意的善，我反不做；我所不願意的惡，我倒去做。

我所願意的善，我不去做；我所不願意的惡，我反而去做。

我所願意的善，我不去做；我所不願意的惡，我反而去做。

我想行善，卻不能行；我不想作惡，反倒去作。

所以我願意行的善，我沒有去行；我不願意作的惡，我倒去作了。

因為我所願意的善、我不去行；我所不願意的惡、我倒去作。

這樣，我願意行的善，我沒有去行；我不願意做的惡，我反而去做。

因我不行所願之善、而行所不願之惡、

故不行所好之善、而行所不好之惡、

是以我所願之善、竟不行之、所不願之惡、反行之、

心欲行善、而卒未能行；心雖疾惡、而卒未之能去也。

For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do— this I keep on doing.

I don’t do the good things I want to do. I keep on doing the evil things I don’t want to do.

For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.

I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.

For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.

For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.

For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.

For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practise.

For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.

For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice.
