For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.

蓋我知我形軀中無善、雖志於善、而未能行也、

亦知我情欲中無懿德、因好之者雖在前、而行其善者不得也、

我亦知我中、即在我肉體中、無有善、雖願為善、而為善不得、

吾知寓吾肉身之內者、實無片善可稱也。為善之願、未始無有；而為善之力、則未能有也。

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

I know there is nothing good in my desires controlled by sin. I want to do what is good, but I can’t.

For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.

And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t.

Behold, I was born in iniquity. My mother conceived me in sin.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, sin’s law.

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.Uphold me according to your word, that I may live. Let me not be ashamed of my hope.Hold me up, and I will be safe, and will have respect for your statutes continually.

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.

For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

What is man, that he should be clean? What is he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight;how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!

For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

Yahweh smelled the pleasant aroma. Yahweh said in his heart,“ I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. I will never again strike every living thing, as I have done.

You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins,in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience.We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—

Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was continually only evil.

Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.

Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus.

For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.

Behold, I long for your precepts! Revive me in your righteousness.

For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law worked in our members to bring out fruit to death.

Oh that my ways were steadfast to obey your statutes!

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

I have gone astray like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I don’t forget your commandments.

For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice.

Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

I run in the path of your commandments, for you have set my heart free.

For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
