For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do that which is good is not.

蓋我知我形軀中無善、雖志於善、而未能行也、

亦知我情欲中無懿德、因好之者雖在前、而行其善者不得也、

我亦知我中、即在我肉體中、無有善、雖願為善、而為善不得、

吾知寓吾肉身之內者、實無片善可稱也。為善之願、未始無有；而為善之力、則未能有也。

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

I know there is nothing good in my desires controlled by sin. I want to do what is good, but I can’t.

For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.

And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t.

For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then I of myself with the mind, indeed, serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

Depart from me, ye evil- doers, That I may keep the commandments of my God.Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live; And let me not be ashamed of my hope.Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe, And shall have respect unto thy statutes continually.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary the one to the other; that ye may not do the things that ye would.

For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof.

What is man, that he should be clean? And he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?Behold, he putteth no trust in his holy ones; Yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight:How much less one that is abominable and corrupt, A man that drinketh iniquity like water!

for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

For from within, out of the heart of men, evil thoughts proceed, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries,covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, railing, pride, foolishness:all these evil things proceed from within, and defile the man.

And Jehovah smelled the sweet savor; and Jehovah said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake, for that the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done.

And you did he make alive, when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins,wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ( by grace have ye been saved),

And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Let thy hand be ready to help me; For I have chosen thy precepts.

Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Christ Jesus.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.For they that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be:and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness.But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you.So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings:

Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: Quicken me in thy righteousness.

For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practise; but what I hate, that I do.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

Oh that my ways were established To observe thy statutes!

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; Seek thy servant; For I do not forget thy commandments.

For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practise.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties,envyings, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they who practise such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

I will run the way of thy commandments, When thou shalt enlarge my heart.

For we are all become as one that is unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as a polluted garment: and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
