蓋知我儕舊日之我、舊日之我原文作本體之舊人與之同釘十字架、以滅罪身、使我儕不復為罪所役、

應知吾人之故我、已與之同釘於十字架上；於是罪孽之身、已蕩然毀滅、而吾人不復為罪孽之奴矣。

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—

We know that what we used to be was nailed to the cross with him. That happened so our bodies that were ruled by sin would lose their power. So we are no longer slaves of sin.

故當滅爾在地之肢體所作之罪、即姦淫、污穢、邪侈、惡慾、貪婪、貪婪與拜偶像同罪、

彼此勿誑言、蓋爾已脫舊人與其所行、而衣以新人、即以智慧日新者、循造之之像也、

爾曹若從肉體而行、必死、若以聖神而滅身之邪行、必生、

今爾得釋於罪、為天主之僕、獲成聖之果、終致永生、

我誠苦矣、誰能救我脫此致死之身乎、我感謝天主、賴我主耶穌基督而得此救、如是、我以心服天主之法、以肉體服罪之法、

與基督聯合、而受割禮、非人手所行者、既去肉體之罪、即受基督之割禮、爾曹受洗禮、即與基督同葬、因信天主使基督由死復活之大能、則與基督同生、

律法因肉體無力、不能滅罪、惟天主為罪遣其子降生肉體、狀如罪人之身、而滅身之罪矣、使我儕不從肉體而從聖神、可成律法之義、

主我之天主歟、在主之外、曾有君王君王或作他主轄我、我獨賴主、禱告主名、

故爾曹勿容罪操權於爾將死之身、致循其慾、

乃縵曰、既不受、則求爾以二騾可負之土賜僕、自今以後、僕不獻火焚祭與別類祭品於他神、惟獻於主、
