應知吾人之故我、已與之同釘於十字架上；於是罪孽之身、已蕩然毀滅、而吾人不復為罪孽之奴矣。

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—

We know that what we used to be was nailed to the cross with him. That happened so our bodies that were ruled by sin would lose their power. So we are no longer slaves of sin.

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires;

Jesus responded,“ I assure you: Everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever.Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.

Therefore, put to death what belongs to your worldly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practicesand have put on the new self. You are being renewed in knowledge according to the image of your Creator.

for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

But now, since you have been liberated from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification— and the end is eternal life!

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this dying body?I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am a slave to the law of God, but with my flesh, to the law of sin.

You were also circumcised in Him with a circumcision not done with hands, by putting off the body of flesh, in the circumcision of the Messiah.Having been buried with Him in baptism, you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending His own Son in flesh like ours under sin’s domain, and as a sin offering,in order that the law’s requirement would be accomplished in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Yahweh our God, lords other than You have ruled over us, but we remember Your name alone.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its desires.

Naaman responded,“ If not, please let your servant be given as much soil as a pair of mules can carry, for your servant will no longer offer a burnt offering or a sacrifice to any other god but Yahweh.
