乃知舊日之我、與之同釘、俾罪之體泯、不復為罪所役、

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—

We know that what we used to be was nailed to the cross with him. That happened so our bodies that were ruled by sin would lose their power. So we are no longer slaves of sin.

爾於夙習之行、宜脫舊人、即以欺罔之慾、而自敗者、

我誠語汝、凡干罪者、即罪之奴、夫奴不永居於家、而子永居焉、若子釋爾、則誠釋矣、

故當滅爾在地之肢體、即淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾、及貪婪、貪婪與拜像一也、

彼此勿誑、以爾已脫舊人與其行、而衣新人、日新以致知、依造之者之像、

爾若依形軀而生、則必死、惟以神而泯身之所行者、則必生、

今爾得釋於罪、為上帝僕、其效成聖、終則永生、

苦哉、我之為人也、誰拯我出此致死之身乎、感謝上帝、由我主耶穌基督為然、是故我以心志服於上帝律、以形軀服於罪律、

且於彼受割、非以手者、乃由基督之割、而革情欲之身、○蓋以洗禮與之同葬、亦與之同起、由乎信上帝之功用、即自死而起之者也、

蓋律因形軀而弱、致有所不能為、上帝為罪故遣其子、身具罪狀、於形軀而定罪、使律之義成於我儕、即不依形軀而行、依神而行者也、

耶和華我上帝歟、爾之外、曾有他主轄我、今惟依爾、稱道爾名、

故毋容罪乘權於爾將死之身、致徇其慾、

乃縵曰、如不受、求爾以二騾可負之土賜爾僕、今而後、爾僕不獻燔祭及他祭於他神、惟獻於耶和華、
